not at all, it shows that you are a proud daddy. you may have to explain it, but you are going to enjoy doing that too. Get the date of birth right under the name and people will most likely know right away what the name is for.

I don't think it is strange if it is your sons name.My husband has his 3 sons names tattooed on his arm along with his 2 daughters names,He will be adding another sons name in Feb. But if people don't know that it is your sons name well then that could be a bit strange and make someone wonder.

Hahahhaa, I never thought about this before, but now I see how that could cause some confusion. Just make sure the tattoo gives some notice that the name is of your son, like dad's son or...idunno think of something so people know it is your son.

My husband took it a step further and had their portraits tatooed on his chest. He now has two little boys beautiful faces on him. I would recomend shopping around for someone who does excellent portraits. Not everyone can do them and I was lucky that my tattoo guy was honest with me when I asked him about doing a portrait for my Husband. He told me he wasn't good at them and sent me to someone else who was. Take a look at his portrait book, if he doesn't have a lot-keep looking. In a case like this, spending the extra money is definetely worth it. We spent $300 on the first one and couldn't be happier.

I dont think its strange at all. Maybe under the name get his date of birth or two hands holding his name as if it was holding a baby just so people dont get the wrong idea and if they do..who are they to judge you, you obviously love your son and no one elses opion really matters....does it

I think a tattoo is for yourself. You want something permanent on your body, to show what's important in your life. You shouldn't care about what people say. Beckham has his 3 son's name tattooed on him...

no it is not, my children's father have my daughter and son's name tatted on his back as well as I do too. Be proud who cares what everyone else thinks. If they think it's another dude other then your sons name then they are closed minded.

Of course not. That's like asking if it's strange to tell your son you love him because he's a guy.

well, to tell you the truth, i think it's a little odd. i once dated someone who had their daughter's name tattooed on them and that was a little freaky (granted, that was a father/daughter weird thing and not a father/son weird thing); for me, traditionally, tattoos are something you use to either express your own inner personality or to commemorate a romantic relationship; they have nothing to do with your children. a better idea is maybe to get your son's hand tatooed on you instead of his name, then that looks pretty cool and doesn't seem quite as odd.
