My daughter has a huge strawberry(birthmark) on her head. Its pretty noticable! Any other parents have a similiar issue and what have you done about it? Let it run its course and see if it fades or get steroids to reduce the size? Whats everyones opinion? I have a 4 month drs apt on friday and will ask the dr about it again, but Id really like to do something about it!! Thanks a bunch for your input!

Doesn't matter what you ask or tell him to do he has a comment or complaint. Or he acts like he didn't even hear you tell him something. What are some suggestions for for alternatives to choking the life out of him.

I posted a question a coupke of minutes ago and said I couldn't affored the best nursery school and didn't want to send my child to the poor one. Well people assumed that I was poor, which isn't necessarily the case, the best school in our city is 200 a week and the only other option is the poor one. Should I care that the children that go there are usually from the bad side of town with drugs and what not? Since I can't afford the best should my kid have to be around types of people I wouldn't put myself around? Am I trying to be to snooty or do I have a point? Please Help

What I mean by sex ed is NOT abstinence only. I mean actually teaching students about SAFE sex, pregnancy and STD's. I am so sick of seeing girls ask such stupid questions because they don't have the correct information. I really believe it should be taught in all schools so that these girls (and guys) can protect themselves better. It's just so frustrating to read some of these questions because they honestly don't know. What is your opinion and why?? And if you don't think sex ed should be in schools, then parents need to step up and talk to their children...

I'm just curious.. I made a custom clock for my daughter, for when she's old enough, to help me with the 'when's Daddy going to be home?' type of wuestion kids ask repeatedly.. I figure it will also help learn to tell time.
I offered to customize them for people, but no one has taken me up on the offer in over 6 months?
Do you like the idea? Why?

Feedback will really help me. :)

Or is that just an old wives tale?
I mean think about it, if you started to choke on some water would you really want someone to smack you on the back? Wouldn't that just make it worse?

My daughter, 6, has play-dates with a boy in her class. They get along great and I am perfectly comfortable with them playing together. I was caught off-guard when the boy's mother called and asked how I felt about a sleepover. I didn't really know how to respond. What are your thoughts?

Seems like there's been this explosion of educational toys and videos out for children in the past few years. LeapFrog, Baby Einstein, and many many more.

I've just been thinking though. Back when our parents and grandparents were young, their parents taught them everything. Every single thing they learned was something they learned from their parents. Does anyone else think it's a bit sad that it went from parents teaching kids everything, to parents popping in a Baby Einstein video and saying "Look how smart they are!"

I mean, yes they're getting smarter from these toys and don't get me wrong because it's wonderful. But it seems a bit sad that the only credit parents have in that is going out and getting the toy from walmart or popping in the dvd. What do you think?
