I've 4 children, 20, 18, 14, 13. People compliment them on growing into fine young people. They ask me how I did it and I have no idea what went right. Is that odd.

i wrote a question yesterday about telling my boyfriend that i'm NOT having an abortion and i'm having the baby. he is going through a lot with his ex (they don't talk) not letting him see his 5 year old daughter. he says that me keeping this baby is making him want to kill himself and that he hates me. i told him not to come home tonight because he is scarring me. i'm so stressed and really...sad. maybe i need to reconsider my options. i can't talk to my bestfriend because she hates him for all he has put me through in this relationship. what do you guys think? please no hateful answers i already feel like crap!

My daughter won't eat dinner. She is five years old and a very picky eater. I try to make options for her so that she always has something on her plate that is her favorite, but I don't feel right about making her her own meals seperate from the rest of us. but for the past few days, even though I have been making her favorite (chicken, macaroni, potatoes, green beans, corn) It is a challenge. She barely eats anything out of her lunch ( I do send her with a lunch box becauseI fear if I didn't she wouldn't eat anything) I am at my wits end. I have tried being nice and I have tried being mean. I have tried early bed times and spankings (something that I absolutely dread doing). I have tried talking and ignoring. I just don't know what else to do. Oh, I even tried making it something fun, like arranging her food in a smiley face and telling her which part of the face to eat next. But nothing works. Please any suggestions will really help

My mother-in-law lives in a different town from both my family and my husbands sisters family. She tells us she is going to come and visit but cancels out at the last minute. However she unshamedly will tell us that the previous weekend she spent with my sister-in-laws family. I am confused as to why as there have been no outward problems. She states that she doesn't like driving on the highway however she has to drive to get to my sister-in-laws as well. It has really started to get to me because my children are getting older and starting to notice. It hurts to see them get disappointed each time she cancels out. She has even done it for birthdays for my kids whereas she never misses my sister-in-laws kids birthdays. I really need some advice as I am sick of stewing over it. Thanks.

Those you chose, would actually take care of your child/children, in the event that something happens to you, and you're no longer able to do it (i.e.Death). Or, was it more of a cerimonial and sentimental thing?

I am single, young, and in school, and don't worry...by no means am I going to get myself pregnant anytime soon. But for the past few months I have been craving a baby! I want one!

My question is why? Some say that its a lack of love but I do not feel unloved. I truly believe from the bottom of my heart that it is simply because I love kids.

A friend of mine was telling me about how her son refuses to go to school. He used to be bullied at school and i think hes gotten in with the wrong crowd of people that have made him this way.

He's fully aware of the consequences of not going to school but i dont think hes taking it seriously, like social services stepping in or being sent to a home, he says that he doesn't care and keeps making excuses to stay from school. She wants him to go back to school and get a good education but that cant happen if he keeps skipping school, and eventually she will get fined or even be put into prison.

Still waiting on a call from social services, but i was hoping anybody could give some advice on the situation because i'm pretty sure this happens alot.

My best friend and I both have step sons the same age (ten) and we both have sons that are three years old. We live acrossed the street from eachother. She allows her three year old out with the ten year old by themselves while I won't let my three year old out in our gated yard without me standing right there. I've expressed my concern and yet she still sends the pair outside with out supervision...please advise?! Am I being over protective?? I mean he's only three!

Think about it, todays kids are way worse than they used to be, mostly because parents are too scared to hit them...why???

give him a paddle on the bare butt or smack his hands, the thing is now, whenever me and my guy get into a fight he accuses me of "beating" our child...and threatens to use this against me if need be.
What do I DO???
I dont want to be accused of something I dont do, but I also dont want my kid to end up a helion.
Whose right here???

We might be moving soon- very soon. We can no longer afford long island. I'm not sure if I am happy about it or not. My kids will not be very thrilled about the idea (I have a 2, 4, and 6 year old). When would you tell your kids about the move and what would you tell them?

I've tried to quit many times, and I smoke maybe a third of a pack a day. If that. While substitute teaching yesterday, I SMELLED it on me. Yeah, it was embarrassing, and I was not being a good role model!
Did embarrassment or the sense of smell help anyone else?
What else has helped you all out there, especially what unexpected things helped you?

How might i include my kids in the adult areas of the home without letting these social spaces become a play room. Should the living room be play free? Where do you draw the line and how much do you take your kids into account when decorating your home? I am redesigning my house and have many things i need to consider. If you have any personal experence and wouldn't mind sharing it i would be greatful. Thank you -w
