It honestly wouldn't bother me or my wife one way or another, but I know a number of people who certainly would, people who come from families steeped in ignorance and bigotry which they passed on to their children. For them I truly feel sorry. To me committing such an offense is equal to child abuse.

Well, I would think some parents might be shocked at first, then realize that they managed to raise their kids better than the previous generation. They don't see color. They see the person. If this is your problem you should give the boyfriend/girlfriend and chance. You son/daughter obviously picked him/her for a reason. Most people seek out a partner that has things in common with their mother/father (unless your parent is some sort of extreme so you look for the opposite).
For example:
So if your husband doesn't approve of your daughters new boyfriend he should think about what the guy has in common with himself. Maybe they are both honest, hard working, with a nice sense of humor, etc...
I personally would be okay with it. If my child (don't have one yet), grew up and fell in love with a different race. Both my husband and I would be fine with it.
To deal with the problem in the mean time I would sit everyone down and discuss it. Maybe start with Mom, Dad and child, then bring in the boyfriend/girlfriend later on. Maybe just hearing things from a different perspective will take care of things. If it doesn't work now, I'm sure time will take care of it.

I wouldn't. There is nothing wrong with whites dating blacks or vice versa or any other race dating each other. As long as my son wasn't dating a girl who had a rep of being a whore and she was a good influence, I would welcome her. My husband and I both agree on this matter, but which ever parent decides that isn't acceptable needs to stop being a racist and see beyond skin color.

I don't think I would handle her dating a guy from ANY race... lol
I have dated non-caucasions (my ex is Cuban, and I have dated Orientals and all of the various others), and don't seriously see anything wrong with it, as long as she is being treated with respect, dignity, and all that it entails.
If she were dating a white kid that disrespected her, then I would end up in jail... if she dated a black kid that treated her like gold-stuidded platinum, I would have no challenges...
It is all about respecting my daughter and my family

Another race would not bother my husband or I... our only criteria for our daughters is that the man treat them like princesses and be a loving person.

I personally wouldn't have a problem with it, I have a 13y/o and a 16y/o and I just want them to be happy and find someone who loves them...My parents, however, wasn't as accommodating with me or my 5 brothers and my husband...if one of our children would come home with someone of a different race.....he would have a stroke!! That's just the way he is....I think that as long as their perspective boyfriend/girlfriend treats them good, loves them, makes them happy, and is respectful to me in my home....Well, God bless them.

you mean drunk? My sons went through the teenage phase of drinking too much. I used to give them a pint of water, 2 Paracetamols, and let them sleep downstairs. They are now 27 and 24, and drink sensibly

As long as the person treated my child well then I woudl have no problem no matter the color. Neither would my husband, if he had a problem it would be detrimental too ur family unit for sure.

Well people are people and the color of their skin should not matter but the character should. I have seen the families split over color but your right when the children are born that seems to dissipate, children are lovable.
