Is it weird for a 13 year old boy to call his parents mommy and daddy rather than mom and dad? Thanks!

I'm not saying I mind it, I'm just wondering if it's weird to say "Mommy and Daddy" or if it's normal.

yeah it's pretty weird (meaning uncommon) but it is a phase, and like all phases, it will pass. give him time, he is doing this for a reason. does he have any other siblings? he might feel you don't give him as much attention as the others. or maybe he doesn't have much friends at school, and finds it comforting to call you mommy and daddy. has he always done this, or just started up again? if it really makes you feel uncomfortable, and hasn't slowed down, then talk to him. start with something low-key, like watching a tv show w/ parents. the kids in the show will likely call their parents "mom and dad"
and then you can tell him you'd like it better if he called u tht.
good luck!

Not weird at all. Mommy and daddy are terms of endearment many children use the world over. The most famous, Prince Harry's own handwriting (at that time aged 13) on a card placed on Diana's coffin letting the world know his feelings for his mother.

No, that isn't weird. I know people who are adults who still hold their parents' hand when walking through a store(myself being one). There's nothing wrong with showing your affection for your parents by calling them mommy and daddy.

It may sound weird to some. I'm 26 and call my mommy mommy and people always look at me funny. I guess it sounds childish but it's my mommy and I will call her what I want :o)
