Like spankings,or whipping with a belt........................

My mother would make me strip down to my undies and hold on to theback of a chair whilst she whooped me with a belt, extension cord, orskinny branch from our olive tree.........Other times she would just whip me all over,or whip the back of my hand.I have lifetime scars all over me.I would get whooped for not having the entire house clean,or dinner ready on time...or for smarting off.

If she can't any more then why do you ask? Do you just need to talk about it or something? Yes, it's too old imo. I believe in spanking (NOT beating), bc by that age the immediate negative reinforcement is lost I, bc you have already learned about right and wrong. By then it's just abuse. Whether or not to report your mom is up to you (unless there are other children living with her, in which case it is your responsibility to report her). What will do you the most emotional good? CPS can't help you now bc you're out of the home, but the police could file reports, maybe arrest her...doing it for revenge may or may not help you heal...but you need to keep her the hell away from you. Get a restraining order if you think it necessary. Cut her out of your life!

Oh my God! If you have actual markings for the police to view I would report this immediately!!! You're going to have pschycological issues and not be able to trust for the rest of your life! I know what I am talking about. I, too, have been whipped with a belt until I bled, spanked, and broke a toe over being abused. You need to get out of this situation!!!

yes 16 is to old, what your discribing is child abuse and you should get help as soon as you can. You have nothing to worry about, Whoever you chose to help you will help you. You may be placed into foster care but most foster parents are very loveing and love there foster children as there own, some children even get to go back to there parents after there parents have proven that they have recived help and can properly care for there children again. Don't be afraid to call for help. You shouldn't be beaten like that, no child should be. If you live within the united states child help usa could be a good place to start. here's there website http://www.childhelpusa.org/home

uhg, I'm sorry to hear that your mother did that to you! I would suggest whoever is the parent of the sixteen year old, should stop the viscious cycle now! Those scars you carry, I'm sure, are more than physical ones.

To answer your question, yes, sixteen is too old. However, I'm biased here . . . I don't like physical punishment at all. For your reasons above. I think some parents use physical punishment because it's a quick and easy fix . . . unlike sitting your child down and talking to her (which takes time and thought).

Hitting a child with any kind of object is child abuse and can result in immediate removal from the parents by DCF.

I have an aunt who is part of DCF and she has removed dozens of kids from homes for the things you just said here. If this is happening to you then you need to report it.

Ain't my baby gorgeous you are a idiot, If you ever hit your child with a belt I promise you if it gets back to DCF they will remove your child and charge you with abuse. I feel sorry for that child if you think beating a helpless kid with abelt is okay, shame on you.

At 16, taking away privelages might work better. Teenagers don't usually have any fears of parents, but if you withhold the car, allowance, taking them to (place), you might get more respect than just a spanking.

Have her carry out a little volunteer artwork after college to serve homeless human beings or attend aa assembly so she will what eating can do to you. Than the only component all young ones hate to do!!!!! Make her write a essay on the drawback of adlescent eating and partying.

Yes, it is wrong to "beat" a child, but eaither way 16 is much too old for that. I am glad you are out of the house.
