sorry I ment "considered". I was just wondering if it was just my family that dose this or if it happens to everyone. I had my first son at 17, he's 8 now and I'm 25. I have been married for 8 years to his father and we now have 2 boys. I happen to think were really good parents and have never been on welfair or anything like that. We worked to get what we have. And I must say we are doing ALOT better then most of my family but they still think, we don't know what were doing. My oldest son is doing well in school and my husband makes enough money so I can be a stay at home mom. I think were doing great for being "Teen Parents" Which is more then I can say about most others in my family.

do you mean considered?
O ok. People always consider you a teen parent. My kids aren't in school yet, it will be obvious that I wasn't 30 when I gave birth. This is what I think; when my kids get married, I will look sexy in my "mother of the bride dress," and their dad will still have all of his hair.

It's not easy being a teen parent but you will have had as much parenting experience as any first time mom. Don't be discouraged! Have fun!!!! I was 22 and I am the youngest in my neighborhood but my sister was 19 and my mother 18. My friend is 18 and in the hospital right now having hers. She will be a great mom. It's all up to who you are and not anything else. I was a single mom when I had my first not so easy but it's OK we can do anything with God. I my self am on my second and now 30 years old with a husband, they sure help. God bless and good luck.

For better or worse, teen prgnancy is a common issue in today's society. You should just be a responsible parent to the child, since it is yours after all. Enjoy being a parent while you are a youth at the same time. Plus, this helps you understand yourself and the world in a number of different ways that your friends will never understand, and you will be a better person for it! Good luck, and take care!

I don't understand OK I see now I think that it sounds like you got it together you are 25 with two kids and a husband that is definitely better then a lot of people I know. good for you and who cares you have seem to have made it through some rough times and I personally Congratulate you and your family for being responsible people and doing the right thing for you.17 is young to have a baby but you have proved that it is not impossible.I am 26 and expecting my first it gives me a lot of hope for myself as I am going to be a single parent. good luck to you and your family.

Yes. Since you had the child as a teen you will most likely be considered a "teen parent" for the rest of your life.

No. It may seem like you will but time has a way of making it less important. Just do your best, do your research and be open to help. It's not how old you are when you have a child, but how you handle and embrace the challenges that will make people see you as older than your years.

considered? Yes, in my case I will always be considered a teen parent. People see a 9 yr old calling a woman who looks to be in her early 20's mom, and they judge you immediately. No matter how good of a parent i've been i'm still that teenage whore who got knocked up, at least to most people who don't know me.

GOOD FOR YOU!
it sounds like you actually have your stuff together. most young women your age don't. only a handfull of teens have their stuff together like you did. that's so impressive to me.
who cares what you are considered as long as you are a happy person with happy children and husband?! let the world think what they want. it's not like you have to go home to them.
you will always be a teen mother because you had a child as a teen. so what?!
