children need to be taught the importance of clothing. they should be taught to keep their clothes on when they reach the age of 3. and they need to learn if they dont feel comfortable wearing hot, heavy clothes then put on more comfortable, lighter clothes like shorts,t-shirts, tank tops. and children need to learn the only time to be nude is when they take a bath and no other time.

Children generally develop a sense of modesty around age 6, give or take. Don't panic or be overly concerned, it is non sexual and children at young ages are curious or just uninhbited. Be sure the child is in a safe place and not around strangers etc.
But, don't be to concerned and don't over react. He/she will develop that sense of modesty and keep the clothing on without being told. For now just emphasize how attractive the clothes are and how grown up the child looks or things along that line. It's natural child like behavior and you should'nt be concerned.

This is a battle I have lately chosen not to make an issue (to many other issues). Both of my kids 2.5 and 4.5 come in the house and strip to diaper and undies almost like taking off a coat or shoes. It makes me crazy. But I am focusing on other issues currently.
My kids have to be dressed for playdates, friends to come over, etc. After I handle some other issues, I plan to tacke this clothes things.
If this is an issue for you just deal with it as you are able. Don't let people judge you or put you down.

like what do you mean....
Are they playing game cube naked? Or are they playing running around your house with a shirt off and a shorts on ...
I would say BY 4 ... They should start leaving their clothes on and alone... I would say under that I wouldnt spank or hit them .. just remind them that they need to keep there dresses not over their heads .. and there shorts on over their boxers. Its proabably 4 ... in public .. but I would not let them run totally naked.around the house... .. especially with all the weirdos .. and if they are not potty trained. at least a bottom cover...

I think this is a personal issue, my husband is a run around in your underwear type of guy, so my sons learned to be the same way, but when my daughter learned at about 3 to keep her close on took a little explaining but she got it

If they're in the house under two, just a diaper is probably fine... but from birth they should be taught modesty... For instance, if you're in public and you have a little girl who is pulling her dress up, you make sure she knows to keep it down... even if you're at home it's a good thing to teach...
My mom used to be a life guard and I remember seeing kids up to age 7 whose parents had them changing in and out of their bathing suits in public... if you teach your kids right, even a 4 year old will be disgusted at that sight! lol...
And honestly, you never know what kind of freaks are out there... a kid should always be wearing clothes.

As soon as well birth. They should be taught modesty with that in mind. Besides do you want to be claening up after a child that isn't potty trained? Some things should be private.
