Occasionally but the same rules as a regular school night still apply. Bedtime, bathtime, nightly routine are consistant eventhough there is a friend over.

The only time my child had a friend spend the night on a school night was because the friends parents were going out of town for an emergency for a few days and they asked if their daughter could stay at our place.
But no, I would never let her have a friend just for the heck of it on a school night. The reason.....because I know these kids and they stay up all night long. Plus they have homework and they don't seem to get it done when they are together.

No. It will turn into a routine that you cant stop once in Junior High and High School when it is important that they get sleep. Also, they could avoid homework and other bad things could come of it. I actually don't know but when I do have kids. It would make it more fun and they would enjoy it more if only on the weekends. Cuz its something kind of special.

Well, yes. Because it's easier with the bus and the transportation than a weekend sleepover. But, the ground rules are homework first, then they need to be in bed at a decent hour. Like, half an hour before normal bedtime. That way they have a little time to chat before they settle down. I have girls, though.
Even if they get a little excited, and tired the next morning, it's not like we do this every week -- or even every month. And if they get too wild, the child will not be invited back.

no way! my son needs his sleep and if his friends are here he will not get it. I rarely let them spend the night on weekends! but i used to have friends spend the night when i was growing up on school nights, as long as u trust that ur child and their friends will listen i don't c it as a problem.

I'm only 17 and still in school, but my mom (single parent) never let me have friends over on a school night, and still doesnt. I think it's for the best though.

Yes, your only young once and then you have to pay bills worry about your marriage and go to work if your not independently wealthy. Who cares if its only once in a while and your kid isn't a major brat, but don't do it just because they say there friend's parents let them or they will try that crap with everything.
