Well we not only have to deal with trick or treat candy, but my husband loves to hand out candy. We actually set up a buffet table & let the kids pick something from every bowl. This year there was 15 different kinds of candy! So, after going through what our son got from trick or treat & adding it to what we have left, we currently have 15 pounds of candy!!!!! I plan to put a piece in our son's lunchbox for the next week, take out some to stuff into Christmas stockings & throw the rest away

Each day I bring a trick or treat pumpkin with candy to work and put it in the break room and by the end of the day the candy's gone. I just keep doing that until all the candy I have at the house is gone.

First we go through it all to make sure it is safe,, then i get my lil favorites lol,,, i do not allow the kids to keep it in thier room , as having 4 kids dentist bill can soar, I pool all the candy together , separate it in to catagories. The kids get a piece for school and a lil treat here and there ,seems to work good for us.

Of course check it first!!!! Then sort according what you would allow them to eat, what you like to eat. Send a piece or 2 to school with their lunch. Bag some for your co-workers. Candy can last for a while save some for xmas and make little bags for xmas, send some to school teacher for classroom.

The first thing you should do is go through and inspect all of it for signs of tampering (loose wrappers, home wrapped, etc.) just to be safe. Then let them enjoy it (in moderation). Its a shame to have to worry about doing this but there are too many hurtful people anymore not to.

More than half of ours went in the trash. We sorted it to get rid of any that was made with trans fat. We've been trans fat free for almost four years now. The kids had no problems with throwing it away. The stuff that was okay we kept and they've had a few pieces here and there--as long as they're eating their meals.

I have hidden most of it and I am saving them for rewards if they do something good. If I left them available my kids would eat the whole lot in a day and then not sleep for a week. I am also making sure that their little friends that did not get the chance to trick ot treat get a little bag of goodies out of their bag.

Well, he's good at sharing..... He takes several bits to school, then a few later in the aft and evening. It was too cold to go far, so he didn't get as much as usual, so that was okay. I went and bought other stuff the next day, though.

If you don't want them to eat it, you could tell them they can trade in some candy for a toy or something - - Or take it to work and let everyone there eat it or donate it to a church or something!! I know there are places that take donations for the troops, too... try http://www.adopt-a-chaplain.org - - those guys would probably love it!!! :)

If I had little kids I would divide it up into their bowl and then my great big bowl. I would have to hide it as I would be eating it all. I love candy.
