I know, from my own experience with Yahoo Answers, and from some of my messenger buddies, who also get on Answers, that some subjects spark hot tempers and that some people just get a kick out of giving a nasty, mean answer to someones question. I, as well as my buddies, have a mental list of the people who have really ticked me off in the past, because of an overly judgemental answer or just an out right mean answer they gave, and I just avoid those peoples questions and hope they don't answer mine. I have noticed that someone on here seems to be stalking me. I know that sounds stupid, but I didn't know another word to call it. Every single question I have asked and every single answer I have given, has been given thumbs downs. Even the simple, non-contraversial ones. Ones that for no reason in the world would have deserved a thumbs down, other than if someone I ticked off if following my activity on here and doing it purposly. Are people on here that bored and vendictive?

I know that was probably a dumb question, but I have noticed it every time I have gotten on here. I mean, give me a break, the last 2 questions I asked in no way deserved a thumbs down. Another one of the people I IM with, said that she had noticed the same thing happening with her. I mean, geez, I have had people on here tick me off, but I certainly don't go searching them out just to give them a thumbs down. It isn't like the thumbs up/down amounts to anything, especially if some people are just giving them to people that have ticked them off in the past and not really even looking at the question or answer. Kinda defeats the purpose to me.

Oh, I put this in parenting, because this is where I have had my little "Disputes" before.

Good grief!!!!! I just saw that on a question I answered that asked "What is your child going as for Halloween?" my answer got a thumbs down. I said my daughter was a diva cat and my son a psycho doctor. Now, how does a simple answer like that get a thumbs down, unless someone is following my answers and questions.

If I have ticked someone off that bad in the past that they are still mad over it, geez, just get it overwith and send me an e-mail or IM. I am an adult, I think I can take it.

Actually WREAGLE: I have never asked this specific question before. I have asked why people are so mean on here. But never why they go around giving thumbs downs to people they are mad at or don't like. Check my past questions a little better next time.

I feel the same way--as you know. There is this one lady who will answer and thumbs down any of my questions regardless if my question is even relevant. I've been called a hippie so many times from this lady--it's hard to imagine. This other lady has 5 or 6 multiple profiles and is following me around. I am in the process of getting them all suspended because I think that is wrong! Anyway--I know how you feel because I feel the same way!

Why are YOU holding a grudge? I've seen you ask this kind of question several times. Obviously you can't take it or you would let it go and move on. Not everyone is going to like you, that's life.

Did I say you asked this exact same question before? NO. I said "this kind of question" meaning you have asked questions LIKE this one where you complain about other people's attitudes toward you on this site. You are too worried about what other people think and you are way too argumentative and confrontational. No wonder people don't like you and want to give you thumbs down all the time. Take a look at yourself before you start putting the blame on others.

I had the same problem with a stalker. I ended up reported her 7 times, and forwarded all the mean emails she sent me to yahoo. Thank god she's gone, and since then I've also made sure to change my settings here so no one can email me now. And this was done to me with 24 hours of signing into yahoo answers. Just ignore them, they will get bored of you once they find an easier target to pick on than you.

An honest answer: I think this is the make up of some people. They are not functioning well in their life, they probably have few or no friends due to this build up of inside pressure and come on here and harrass because it relieves this build up of inside pressure. Vendictive in one word. So sorry for your problem.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. I can't believe how immature some people are. Just don't let them ruin your YAHOO questions/answers experience! There are lots of good folks on here that really do try to help others and make friends. Just ignore whomever that is. Good luck.

some people are unhappy with themselves, downright miserable and just not bright enough to have an intelligent opinion/suggestion etc.. and since the only thing they are smart enough to realize is that they are well... dumb they go out of their way to make others feel just as bad. keep asking your questions. if its something you are interested in, who cares what bad things others have to say.focus on the good answers, the helpful ones and let them waste their time, they'll eventually get tired of bothering you. have a good day!!!

Some people are just rude and they have nothing better to do with their time- These are probably the same people that yell at poor cashiers or bank tellers.

Just let it go. Be classier than that person. Take the high road. What you are describing points to selfishness of that person, lack of humility, big ego.
Leave them with it, go away with a happy heart.
p.s. I like you :)

some people are just catty, like I asked a question about my sister in law and everyone thinks I am judgemental, I just wanted to know what not to do. Who cares, they are just a computer icon to me.
