That's too young for most children, in my opinion. Is she waking up dry in the mornings? Is she showing an interest in the potty? You can start if you want with a potty chair, but it'll just be frustrating if she's not showing signs that she's ready.

That's pretty young.
You want to wait until you see her showing some signs of readiness and interest.
Parent-lead potty training is stressful and takes forever.
Child-lead potty training is easier and doesn't take as long.
She should have words for pee and poop, be able to tell you when she is gone or when she needs to go, be able to handle pulling her pants up and down on her own, show an interest in what mom and dad do in the bathroom, stay dry during naps, etc. Most kids are ready closer to 2 years of age.

I had my first son potty trained at 20 mths. Around 17,18 mths. I started setting him on the potty occasionally. I also sung him "The Potty Song" (like Look Whos Talking).Kids are smart, with a little coaxing, and making it fun, they'll or rather she'll get it in no time.Hope this helps.

I agree she must show signs of being ready. I allowed my daughter to choose her own potty seat. This allows her to be involved. And let her pick out her own big girl panties. She would be less likely to have an accident in them. Don't forget to use the two P's...patience and praise. And know that accidents will happen. It's how you respond to them that will set the tone for the remainder of the process. Good luck.

Are you kidding?
You should've started many moons ago..
Most children learn before they are a year old
if parents take the time...
Get her a child's potty and put it in the bathroom.
Everytime you go, take the child and sit her there.
Make sure you get her out of the habit of wearing diapers..
ASAP..Even if she has an accident, let her!
In time, she will hate the wet, dirty, diaper..
Good luck......

If she is showing an interest, now is the time. If not, there are books and videos now, to create that interest. Be prepared for some ups and downs, and some relapses after she gets it. Above all, be patient! It will happen in the end.
Good luck!

Frst and foremost WAIT UNTIL SHE IS READY to potty train. Just becuase you and your husband think she should go through that torture doesn't mean she should.

YOU WILL KNOW SHE IS READY WHEN SHE STARTS WANTING TO GO POTTY. WHEN SHE STARTS WANTING TO, PUT HER ON HER OWN POTTY. SHOW HER HOW TO WASH HER HANDS WITH HER OWN SOAP, ETC. JUST MAKE SURE SHES READY OR IT WILL BE TOO MUCH FOR HER.
