this may be wrong, but I do not buy the school pictures, the ones at Target or JCPenny are cheaper and you get more, I think the pricing at the schools are a rip off and we can get family pics and individual child pics at a studio at more of a value.

Well, I feel like I got a pretty good deal. I paid $37 dollars for 2-8x10's, 2-5x7's, 2-3 1/2x5's, 16 wallets and 16 gift wallets, this package was $32, I paid and extra $5 for a calendar with my sons picture,(8x10) He is 3 and in pre-school though, I dont know what the packages and rates are like for elementary school and such.

We paid 23.50 for 1 8x10, 2 5x7s, 16 wallets, a class picture, and it was only 1 pose as well. We are located an hour north of Seattle. Different picture companies set different prices. Also, being in a larger metro area versus a smaller town area can change prices as well.

We paid $32(for each child). And we did not get an 8x10. We only ended up with a 5x7 and some wallets. I have 4 kids. School pics are way too pricey.

Most environtmental scientists don't do any of that. Personally I investigate potentially contaminated areas and write reports regarding whether they are indeed contaminated, and if so, how they should be cleaned up. I know, I know, I feel really guilty preventing people from getting cancer, but somebody has to do the dirty work. My work is funded by contracts mainly from the US Dept. of Defense, because I work on cleaning up former military sites. Many other environmental consulting firms are funded by oil companies, because leaking underground gas tanks are a common source of contamination. Our work does not 'kill industry' or force American jobs overseas, and we rarely if ever interact with school kids, let alone lie to them. Would you prefer to have contaminated drinking water? If a gas station next to your house leaks a bunch of carcinogens into the soil and water, would you prefer we just pretend it didn't happen?
