This is hypothetical.

You just found out your sixteen year old son/daughter was neglecting to do her school work and is currently failing her math class. You ask the teacher if the work that she didn’t do could be made up for partial credit and if he/she could redo the work. The teacher says he/she doesn’t give out partial credit. You make your son/daughter redo all the work and take all the tests over again that he/she missed even though he/she can’t turn them in for any credit. Does this seem like a fair punishment to you? If not, what how would you punish your child?

My 10 year old is being physically assaulted by another boy in his class. He's come home bruised on several occasions, and last week was kicked badly between the legs. Today he was hit with a broom handle and kicked all the way through lunch.

I have spoken to his teacher countless times, who claims to be sympathetic etc etc, but absolutely nothing seems to be done.

What are my legal rights here? I am on the verge of confronting the head and threatening to take my child out of school.

What proceedure do you think I should follow? Also, as the children are over 10 (the legal age of responsibility) can I contact the police. Maybe that seems like over-reacting, but I am furious and my little boy is really suffering.

Any advice appreciated.

Every child finds something annoying to do to a parent. I know because I raised a son. He's 20 now and still finds a way to annoy his Mother. I think it makes his day LOL. What's something or some things that your kids do to annoy you and it seems like they enjoy doing it to make you mad?

I am the only girl of 4 children. My mother LOVES her screwed up sons, but hates me.

I am 24 and have made a good life for myself, I was a really good kid and never got into trouble!

She invites me over and then tries to fight with me about stupid stuff (like my brother’s alcoholism, things that happened when I was a kid that she says never happened, my husband and I planning our first child!)

I end up telling her I need to go home because her arguments escalate and she won’t let it go until she wins!

She was verbally abusive to me as a kid, it took a year of counseling to accept that my mother doesn’t treat me with respect or love.

I have come to terms with the fact that she will not change, and although I love her because she is my mother, I do not like her as a person.

I honestly never want to see her face again.

I am a happy person, but when I see her I am miserable and end up leaving her house looking and feeling like the bad guy.

What do I do?

He says there ugly and to big but there not, there just baggy. I'm running out of things to ask him to get to the problem he is really having. Any ideas?

I have three daughters, ages 7,2 and 2.I live with them, without the father(he is in another country).Anyway,I don't have anyone to leave the kids with while I'm at work(8 hours a day) and they usually stay at home alone.I don't send my 7-year-old to school, because she,as the oldest, has to look after the twins(who are younger). So far,she has learnt these: washing her hair and combing it,making sandwiches, keeping the room clean(putting the toys to their places),using the telephone, etc. She is also learnt how to take care of the twins - she has the food ready and just gives it them at lunch, she makes them go to bed for a nap some time during day.She knows all the rules and keeps them - no using cookers, electric stoves, boiler, not opening the doors to strangers, etc. She is very mature.Should I teach her how to cook easy things and clean with a rag and what other things could I teach her do at that age?

I am 18 in college and i live with my parents , brother and younger cousin he is four going to be five. My parents have custody of him and i am his godmother. I was shy for most of highschool and my parents were protective of me not letting me do anything afraid i was going to end up like my aunt mother of my younger cousin.I got into 4 different colleges but chose to postpone my entry for a year so i could go to a community college and figure out what i wanted to do.Problem is my younger cousin is used to sleeping in my bed and when i stay up to study he wont go to sleep or if i am out with friends. Next year i will also be dorming and will not be able to babysit anymore or allow him to sleep with me. What can i do to prepare him?

I was just courious to see if people are actually going to put their child on birth control when they reach a certain age regardless if they are sexually active or not. This is basically a hypothetical question. If you had a daughter when would you put her on birth control, if at all?

I beleive in whooping kids asses, but I'm just curious to see the mix of answers. This actually happened to my aunt an my little cousin. She spanked the girl, and later that week, she went to her friends house and told about it and what she did. Then the girl told her mother, and the mother called CPS on my auntie.

I'm trying to understand why my boyfriends Ex gets upset when I buy anything for her child.
It's so bad that when I do get things for his little girl I have to tell her that her dad got it for her, that way when she goes home she can keep it.

I have 2 boys with my x.his new girlfiend (wife) buys my kids things, and it don't make me mad.

I have been hearing conflicting things about child immunazations. It puts the virus in the childs body, right? I have heard now, that is not good for kids, and you can opt not to get them. But now a days you cant even get your kiddo into daycare or school without them. Is there any way around it?

He was caught shoplifting on Sunday and my husband and I said, "That's it. You rarely get spanked - it's been a couple of years - but you've earned one." He thinks he's too old. He says it was just a joke and he didn't mean any harm. What's the opinion of the readers? He's in sixth grade.

When buying a Halloween costume on Ebay I noticed that costumes by Tom Arma look a little different even though they are the same animal. Does anyone know why that is? Even the non signature costumes look a little different then some of the other non signatures. Is it just me??

i love my children very much and stay at home with them. they are twins and 16months old. as of late they fight me on everything from feedings to getting in thier car seats to changing a diaper. i never let them see me get angry because i believe they will feed off of that type of response... but it is not working. i realize this is them trying to gain independence but they do not act this way with their father, aunts or grandma/grandpa. they are perfect angels for them. just last night my husband said "they really don't like you do they?" b/c they were pushing me away when i was trying to hold them. they let him hold them. i play with them, take them to the zoo, apple orchard, park, read them books, sing and dance not to mention feed, bathe etc. do they treat me this way because i am always with them and am thier mother? does anyone else feel like their kids don't like them? am i taking it too personal? i am pretty sensitve!

Lots of moms work, but their kids aren't in daycare. Alot of couples work opposite shifts, so either parent is always with their child/children. And I don't agree with those people who think fathers can't do as good a job as mothers, that's ridiculous. Lots of fathers love thier children just as much as the mothers, if not more sometimes.
