I asked a question last night and I think I worded it very wrong. I got a very negative response and wanted to ask my question to people in a more polite way. In my question I asked why some stay at home mothers or housewives neglect to do housework and then say they were tired or they had a bad day--several days in a row? I understand a bad day or two but several days in a row…I just don’t understand! I would like to know what these mothers do all day? Of course they care for their children but what do they do during naps or when they have spare time? I really don’t understand. Is organization and routine that uncommon? Is tiding every room for maybe ten minutes each a day that hard and tiring?

I am not talking about mothers who go to work part-time, work from home, or go to college. I’m talking about the regular SAHM who is caring for children all day long.

But why do they expect their husband or significant other to help with the housework and errands? They don't go to his job and help him do his job, right? So, why is it a double standard? Why do women up here line up to belittle guys who want to rest after a long days work instead of helping do the housework or watch the kids? Since it's the "job" of the SAHM that she martyred herself out for, and she wears so many hats, why do they complain buckets of snivel when the man doesn't help unless prodded with "her work"? Please, explain. Be fair, and don't be mad at me for pointing out the obvious. I have no issues with pulling up links and calling a lot of you out that were just up here singing this song.

On thursday night my husband, his step dad spanked him pretty hard for getting into trouble and he cried alot but i thought it was just from being scared and upset. then on sat. morning i took him to his dad and stepmoms house. his dad called me sunday morning and told me he found several small bruises on his lower back and asked me what happend. I had no idea! I figured he had fell down and got hurt or something. I went to pick him up later that night and saw the bruises and freaked out! They looked like bruises from a fist or fingertips! I told my husband about it and of course he had no idea how it could have happened but the weird thing is he was OVERLY nice to my son when we got home. I just thing it was strange. Maybe he doesn't want me to think he did it. Maybe he didn't do it but how else does a kid get bruises on his lower back??? I'm use to seeing bruises on his knees and stuff like that but this was different. I'm just worrying myself sick over this.

I thought those things were life's responsibilites. Many women work 40 + hours a week and still clean, cook, raise children, etc. I'm sorry but I think if I didn't have to work at my job 40 + hours a week every week, I'd have it made! I rush every day before work to clean, cook, walk the dog, pay the bills, etc. I get it done. Those are just part of life, not a 'job'. If I didn't have to work, think how much more free time I'd have!

My husband had surgery on his wrist last Monday. He is unable to use that arm for about 10 weeks. He is going to be off work for all that time. My issue is that he acts like he is disabled now. He sits around watching TV all day and does nothing at the house. I realize that he can't do much, but good gosh, it only takes one hand to put dirty clothes in the washing machine, put wet ones in the dryer, and take the clean ones out of the dryer and put them in a basket so I can fold them after work. He won't even attempt to pick up the living room. I am going to go nuts if I have to deal with this for 10 weeks. I am putting this in parenting because he is also not helping with the kids much. Any (not rude) suggestions?

My little girl is just over 10 months old and was starting to sleep through the night before her teeth came in. Now she has 4 with 2 more on the way and she will not sleep for more than 4 hours during the night without wanting a feed.

We've tried to water her milk down but she wakes earlier as its not filling her. She wakes crying, we try everything before resorting to the bottle then once shes full she goes back off to sleep.

We've tried everything we can think of and are desperate for some sleep, please help.

i need to get some information , regarding my ex- partners change of heart to allowing me over night access, although we both went to see the cafcass officer and her agreeing that i can have the kids over night and holidays ect. does she now have the right to get in contact again with the cafcass officer and request my access to be denied. Access has not been decided yet by the courts, as i need to have the kids and see how things go and to be re-elvaluted in dew course. My solictor has told me that i will have no problem of having access to the kids soon. But she is making my life difficult and contacting her solictor, to contact mine about all sorts of nonsence like harrasemnet ect. So can she go to cafcass and say no she does not wont me to have parenal responsibilities ect. We were never married i am not down on the birth certificate., although this is why i am taking her to court. please advice.

I am 28 and have had 3 children my first passed away, the other two were perfectially healthy. I had a miss carrage with twind between the two I have and also had cervical cancer. About two weeks ago. We found out that we were pregnant so I went and seen my gp and gino and both told me that I would not be able yo carry full term and had to decide weather to terminate or not. We made the decision that it was for the best as I had already had 3 ceasers. my mum took me down to have the procedure done and ont the way she says the reason why I am so much closer to your sister. Then oh I went to the cemetary the other say (to see my daughter) Then while I am in surgery she goes and has a massage and cannot be contacted to pick me up. Then on the way home says I don't mind doing this once but don't amke a habbit of it. I do not understand why a mother would say those things and I am still very upset with her I have not said anything as my mind was in other places. What do I do.

Parents in the UK today seem to blame the government for everything from bad behaviour to weight problems. I am a strong believer that when you have a child it is your responsibility to pay for that child's upbringing and if you can't afford it, you shouldn't have a child. Parents in the UK seem to blame the generation of ASBO children on schools and councils not doing enough. Why can't the parents discipline these children themselves? What are your views?

Would it be considered "abandoment" if minimal contact was maintained and no support was given, even though the parents have money and they say they will support their own children but don't? How do the grandparents protect the grandchildren and get the parents to use "tough love" on themselves and take responsibility instead of "taking the glory but not the responsibility"? (Grandchildren taken in during hard times but now parents are solvent and able, but won't step back up to the plate.)

I gave my son the recommended dose of children's Motrin which is two and a half tablets. I gave this to him after dinner so he didn't take them on an empty stomach, know a few hours later he is complaining of being dizzy. Has any one else given their child Motrin and had this effect from it. He is ten and the bottle said to give him two and a half tablets.

He cut open his finger earlier today and about fainted when he saw what it looked like and he got really sick from the sight of it he is not one for blood or needles. Could his dizzyness also be from the docs numbing his finger and the numbing wearing off? He isn't complaning of any pain.

I am new to this he has gone ten years with out getting seriously hurt.

I have a 16 year with a 10 month old baby boy, she and baby still live at home with me. The father is somewhat around but does not pay for ANYTHING. Her and I get help with food stamps and WIC and the state is helping with paying for daycare so my daughter can work. She is IN LOVE with the father of her baby. I dont have a problem with that, my problem is how do I get them both to start paying for things. Yes, I have tryed almost everthing. The father is working but all I hear from him is he has car insurance or no gas or what every. With my daughter she gets her pay check and will by very little for the baby. She is a very good mother in taking care of her baby but seems to think that just cause I make more money then her I should just pay for everthing,. Tomorrow I am putting my house up for sale cause I am wanting to move into an apartment, I am tired of taking care of a house, not beacuse of my daughter, I told her that when I do her, baby an daddy need to find there own place.

His belief is that all of our days are numbered and that safety, which is my concern, is not important because all of my son's days are already predetermined. I disagree and feel that my son should be driving a Saab or Volvo which are very safe compared to a Camaro convertible. I had numerous car accidents as a young person and half of his genes are mine!!! What do you people think, especially if you are evangelical Christian?

My sons sick so my wife was taking his temperature and all that boring stuff she does. Then he started puking all over the carpet and my wife didn’t care but I jus laughed at him and told him he was gross.. My wife overheard that and flipped out at me. The he said he had to go to the bathroom so , he had diarrhea and then I was like cracking up because my wife was like hugging him on the toilet.. It was hilarious. And yea now she’s bringing him to the hospital for some reason. But anyways, she wants to divorce me. She says im a lazy bum that has no job.. Which I really don’t so she’s not lying.. ohh and he’s only 2 years old. But is that a good reason to divorce someone? Like she totally hates me now. What should I do?
