Birthdays are a wonderful way to celebrate and bring everyone together.
Everyone should celebrate their birthdays with a party. As your child gets older, just adjust the party to suit their age and interests.
My children are in their 40's and 30's and I always have a party for them, their spouses birthdays, everyones.
When they become teens they will even have great ideas on how they would like their party to be.
Have fun with it, enjoy them.

Never too old for a party. You may just want to have a different kind of party for the child. I dont know if you have a boy or a girl? A friend who has a son took him and a few friends go carting around that age. Or take a few to a sporting event. Pizza and a movie would also work for boy or girl as well as a swim party at your local park, gym, or even hotels will let you rent the pool area for a few hours for a party. Girls like to have sleep overs at that age. Or you could take a few girls out to do something crafty. I think they have party rooms at places like Michaels where they can all make something to take home.

My friend was going to stop having them for her son at 10 but decided she'll go one more year. He'll be 11 in January and really has had any good birthday parties because he's so shy and doesn't have any friends. Very sad. She's hoping that this year will be different.
I'd probably stop around 10-11 too. After that only have get togethers with family.

After raising 5 children and 8 foster children, We stopped giving a party after age 16. We would still have a celebration and a special dinner but we did'nt have a party and invite all their little friends anymore.
To answer your question: no 11 is difinately not too old.

i think any age is ok for having birthday parties, but you may find your child starts prefering sleepovers or a day out with friends more exciting than a party
it depends on the child, but no i dont think that 11 is too old

I dont think you stop giving birthday party's for your kids... you just modify them for their age. My son is 15 and still likes birthday parties... we just dont play the corny games and wear the party hats anymore. He now just invites his freinds over and they will basically do their own thing. We just provide the grub and drinks and they take care of the rest.

My mother turned 65 this year and I threw her a birthday party. You're never too old to celebrate your birthday.

I stopped when I was 18, but that was bacause I was planning my wedding.
My MIL just had a party for their 18 year old.
I don't think they are ever too old, as long as they get some input as to who is at the party and the other details. :)

my oldest is 15 and we still do parties. every year she has about 40 kids, the same with my other two kids. do the parties while you can because before long they will be on their own and you will want to have them home to give them parties. God bless
