I have a adult son who no longer lives at home. During his teens, he started using cannabis and amphetamine and became violent towards me - same as his dad). After taking out an AVO, things got worse, he ended up in court etc for crimes and he moved out with my help at aged 18. When he wants money for drugs, he tries to manipulate myself and my elderly parents. He then fights with me but they give in to him which makes it worse for me. They do not understand my point. Now he is no longer talking to me and we have no contact at present. My parents are still babying him and my mother continually phones me and brags to me about my son even though she is furious with him. I don't know what to do. I thought that playing it tough will make him think about his behaviour but it is destroying our relationship. If I give in to him he will use drugs and continue this terrible road to destruction. Have any other parents had to deal with this? I am being consumed by this.

My daughter will be 4 one month after my baby is due. I was wondering if she is still young enough to put in a stroller or not. The stroller is going to be used for walking for exercise and nothing else. Thanks

My 11-year-old can't seem to swallow a pill, either with water or by itself. I try using gel-tabs (like Advil) but it never goes down. I think he's afraid of choking on it. Yeah, it's a weird problem but I'm tired of buying liquid medicine for him.

2 night is one of MANY POSSIBLE EXAMPLES: She wants 2 wash her hair 4 the second time 2day. Looked at her scalp it’s clean & the hair is starting 2 look dry. She wants 2 put shampoo on her dry hair then eat a snack & watch TV while it’s “working”! I say “You think shampoo is conditioner. You can’t let shampoo sit on your dry hair like this it’s bad.” Her “No it’s not! I’m going 2 do it”. This is a very physically vain family & I as an American woman am already being scrutinized as a parent. Do I allow her 2 do this & damage her hair because I don’t have the energy 2 continue going back & fourth with her or stand firm out of fear of what my husband/in-laws will think of me? Do I get physical w/her? Do I watch her all night? Her father is at work & has told me “not 2 bother” him with anything she does. BTW, if you are one of those "step parents have no rights but all of the responsibility of a parent" people, pls don't answer. How do I "pick my battles in this mess"? Or do I just walk?

My 2 1/2 year old has 2 toys that she won't share with anyone. My fiance and I have agreements about it because he thinks she should have to share those 2 toys with her sister. Her sister has a babydoll that she doesn't like to share. My question is, do you feel that children are entitled to have a favorite toy or 2 that you shouldn't fdorce them to share? they share everything else though.

There are a couple of radio stations in my families listening area that I do not particularly care for the music they play based on the lyrics of certain songs. Some of the music is fine, others are not good for 12 y/olds to listen to or understand.

I would like to know if a rating system could be established for the listening audience. Example ( "This station is rated PG-17") not good for underage children. Or maybe a V-chip so I could set the stereo in her room where it would only pick up the stations that are approved by her father and I.

What do you think?

my daughter is 8 years old and she has been having alot problems with some of the neighborhood kids and they keep on trying to jump on her. there is one certain little girl that calls her fat bitches and ugly. It hurts me so badly to see her go through this, because I also went through the same thing when I was her age. I know how she feels when she comes home crying so hard that she vomits and can't catch her breath. I want to put her self defense classes but I don't if that is such a good idea. I purposely put her summercamp to avoid this. Now that summer is over, and the kids are back in school, I thought that it would be over but its not. Someone please help me.

Hello, I have two kids, a two and a half year old girl and a nine month old girl. We only have my mom who can babysit for us and my husband and I want to find a casual babysitter. I'm just wondering if anyone has tips regarding how to find a babysitter we can really trust or how to find out if we can really trust someone before we let them stay with our kids. It's so hard to know what to do. Thanks!

It takes 500 years for used diposeable nappies to decompose!

What's your view on this subject for saving our environment?

Do you just chuck the used nappies away or do you burn them?

Whats your view on them compared against reusable terrt towelling nappies and other reusable nappies and plastic pants??

I dont have children of my own yet but when i do i would be using reusable nappies as they are just as absorbent for holding wee and poo!

Would you be happy washing dirty or wet nappies?

My ex husband acts like the visitation schedule we have is for him to adjust any way he wants to. He hardly ever comes to pick up my son anyways, he usually sends someone else. It is usually his mother. She has shown up an hour and a 1/2 early before and has also shown up an hour and a 1/2 late. My son has been dropped off late before. My ex has also gotten his weekends mixed up before, and when I don't give in to him, he starts yelling at me and throwing a fit. Do any other moms have to deal with this mess?

and ****, well SO WHAT!
Whats wrong with that? Doesnt every mom want their kid to have the best in life? Like a nice home in a non violent ghetto? Or nice clothes so they dont get made fun of and have their confidence ruined by other children, things like that.
The whole world is materialistic you know, even GOD gave the best of linens, materials and all to his ppl.

used clothing but only new or name brand clothes for your kids...what makes you decide to buy new clothes instead of second hand?
Like me I only buy new clothes for my kid because when I was a kid I always got salvation army clothes.
So I think that has something to do with it.
