showing off!
Whether its showing off you cute kid in their new clothes, or pulling up to a soccer game in the brand new BMV X5, or bragging that your somewhere like Hawaii for the summer vacation...I am not any if that I dont even have a car, but I always wondered what it would be like to be that kind of mom, not nesacarily rubbing it in other ppls faces, but just knowing that you are in a good spot in life.

Ummm...so what's the question? No matter how much a person has, there will always be someone that has more. The key is to be happy with and grateful for what you have.

No, I can't say that I desire all that. I do like showing my little girl off in cute clothes, but little do people know, they are usually Walmart or clearance rack clothes. I would never spend $20-25 on a shirt for my kids. That is rediculous, and is only done to show off. I drive a mini-van, so I couldn't care less about a brand new BMW X5 or bragging that I was in Hawaii. Personally I think that is shallow if you need to do that to feel good.

I don't have to show off for other people because I could care less what they think. My sons' behavior is enough of a bragging point that I don't need to tout my accomplishments or material things to get attention. I drive a 1992 Ford Taurus, I live in a house that was built in 1931, and I don't have to paint my face, or put on Gucci and diamonds before I leave the house. I may not be monetarily rich by any means, but my family and I are rich in love and life. Corney, but true.

i have more important things to worry about then showing off what i do have. being a mom is hard enough i could care less if the mom down the street has a better car or a house . i only care that my 7 month old son is healthy and that what i do have for him i try to keep in good order
i worry about things like mhow to pay rent or how i am gonna get to dr appoments not about what other are doing.
you should just worry about yourself

A "good spot in life" is hard earned and a place you are in because you are at peace with yourself and the people around you.
The feeling you are talking about is "smug" and that's dangerous
because it can all be taken away as fast as you got it.
Have you ever heard the saying "Pride cometh before the fall"?
When you look around yourself and see all these beautiful things,
stop and say a prayer of thanks that you are fortunate enough to have them.
I'm sure you are young and have a lot to learn, I just hope you don't learn the hard way. God be with you baby girl

There's just no way to do those things without rubbing it in. A really decent person might have a lot of the things most want, but would never mention anything about it. Maybe you should consider improving your life or being satisfied with whatever you have.

i don't show off at all. i could honestly care less what other people think about me or the things that i have. i drive and older car that is falling apart, but it gets me places. i still have extra baby weight, but it's my own fault and I hate working out. I do not dress my kids in brand new uncomfortable clothes because it's a waste of money that could be going toward his education later in life. we don't live in a fancy house on the hill, we rent a duplex in the ghetto. my hubby and i do the best that we can for our family and that is all that matters to us.

it depends who you talk to. If she has a Mercedes G-Wagen, you can have a sensible adult conversation about whether the X5 has more space, is easier to turn etc. If the other person has a ten-year-old Ford then it is best to keep quiet.

The bragging kind of mom is worried that hubby has given them wealth instead of love and is his PA getting more sex from him.

i have always driven older cars. the only vacation trips
i took were as chaperon on an organized trip which
included one or more of my children. they always
wanted new clothes to be laundered a time or two to
get the starch out. if they were smarter, more talented,
ot better behaved than someone else's kid there was
always someone better than them. i will say this. when
asked, i always admitted i was proud to be their mother.
this is something every child deserves no matter what
their accomplishments or lack thereof.

I don't do this because I don't want my children to grow up to think that they have to have something just because someone else does. My husband and I both hae our own cars, but they aren't new, but they get us around. I choose to have an older car that is easy for my husband to work on himself so we can afford for me to stay home, which is more important than having a flashy car.
