OKay i know where babies come from i'm just wondering why parents sugercoat the truth. i think that you should tell ur children exactly where they came from. and not just say "oh the stork dropped you off at our doorstep" if you really think about it, its a load of crap.

over to his grammas. I need to get rid of it before he gets back, which is in a couple of hours.
I cant get to the doctor so thats not an option at the moment.
I cant have a nap either, because the pain of this migraine wont let me.
Its making me irritable as F**k and I am losing my patience, thats why I sent my son away for now.
I woke up with it, and its really hurting the hell out of me?
Anyone know what I can do to get rid of it????

With a recently turned 18 year old girl and a 21 going on 22 year old guy age difference wise?. My parents do not like this guy and have not even met him and refuse too saying he is too advanced for me and probably mature too. I have always done well in school and listen to my parents wishes. Also since they are paying for my college tuition i make every effort to respect them. This guy is sweet and just had a bad break up with a girlfriend that cheated and it started as me making him company as a friend but has moved too romace. He does drink a little and is in a band but is leaving when his contract is up to enroll in school full time. My parents say i am not seeing the problems that may occur?

I am not a neglectful parent. I am asking because it seems a lot of people have different oppinions. I'm not asking for a website to go see to check out state child abuse and neglect laws. I would just like to know what do you concider child neglect?

This is a question I have often wondered looking back on my childhood because I, being an only child, was both spoiled and sheltered to a ridiculous ammount until my mid to late teens when my parents decided it wasn't working out very well. To that end, I opine that leaning more toward having children learn from their own mistakes is better, but am curious to see what others think on the subject.

My best friend had a baby and was killed in a car accident two weeks later. Her parents have obtained full custody since the baby's father is a deadbeat. They have been raising this child for about 3 years and I understand that it is difficult, but there is a huge problem. They feed her GARBAGE (for example, it is not uncommon for her to eat 2 hot dogs a day, 5 days a week). She eats McDonalds, candy, chips, and soda. She is already overweight for her age (about 12 lbs. over). This child is going to have a tough life already, considering she doesn't have any parents. If she's obese on top of that, bullying and health problems are inevitable. How can I possibly mention this without offending anyone?? HELP!

I'm pregnant with my second child and our first is still in her crib in our room. We have until April to have her moved to her own room and into a toddler bed. She's now 17 months. Any suggestions on how to make this as easy as possible for everyone?

I walked in the bathroom yesterday and I saw the funniest sight, at least I thought it was funny when I told my husband. My 3 year old daugher and my 6 year old son must have had to pee at the same time, because I walked past the bathroom and heard giggling, so I thought they were playing around in the bathroom. I COULDN"T HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG. My half naked daugher was straddling the toilet while my son had his pants around his ankles and was peeing at the same time...THROUGH HER LEGS!!! Until I talked to my husband about it, I was angry as anything, then I laughed right along with him.

I divorced 4 years ago and I got the guardianship. My daughter is 12.A week ago I found in her wardrobe 3 condoms(haven't been used yet).I asked her and she got angry "Why have you been looking in my wardrobe?!".I slapped her.She looked at me and told me I cannot stop her from having sex unless I lock her in the room for the rest of her life. Now she is grounded with no TV,no computer and no cellphone. She is only allowed to go to school and get back home.I told her that and she said OK.Now she goes to school in the morning and returns after 21:00!!!When she comes back so late I ask her where has she been and she says "None of your business".I slap her every time she goes out without a permission but that doesn't help.We live on the first floor and she goes out of the wondows. If I look the windows she goes out of the door. She keeps going out and probably having sex and I can't do anything.Any suggestions please???

How did you come about your parenting style? Were you influenced by your own parents? Did you just test techniques to see what worked/didn't work?

My mother in law got onto me yesterday when we were shopping. I bought each of my 2 girls 2 pajama outfits, 2winter outfits and their halloween costumes. I went out today and bought them 2 more outfits (all these clothes are for christmas; I found them on sale). My mother in law was saying that I need to quit buying for my kids all the time and that I should start buying for myself. The thing is, it makes me so much happier to buy for them than to buy for myself. If I'm out of make-up, most likely I'd see something that one of the girls would like so I buy it instead. Why does this happen? My kids are my life and I would do anything for them. It makes me happy but it seems other people don't do this. Does anyone else do this?

We almost lost our son two times this summer. He is going to be 2 october 1. The first time he had a severe allergic reaction to ammoxicillan (after 6 days of being on it) , and his airways started to swell up from the inside out, we didnt realize it until he started swelling on the outside because he was taking a nap and we did not realize he was in distress. He was in the hospital for a week... The second time he had cought solmanilla poisoning, we still don't know from what. His fever spiked so fast that it caused him to have a febrile siezure, but they said the high fever may very well have been what saved his life, because it killed off alot of the solmanilla. .but now I absolutly panic when any of my kids get sick... Is there any way to get past the paranoia? I can not sleep when they are sick anymore... I am so afraid of somthing happening to my babies... Please help!
