Some of these pathetic people just can't help being morons can they?
But then again there have been some really nice suggestions and some have really lovely meanings. I would concentrate on the meanings rather than if they sound good to Europeans. The only thing you have to consider is if your child is going to go to a standard European school where muslims are in the minority it would help the child if the name was easy to pronounce and spell for the teachers and your childs friends. Other than that who cares if the name doesn't sound at all European? I took great care and time over choosing a name for my daughter that nobody had ever heard of! Much better than being one of 8 Chloes or Jacks in the class!! Have fun choosing!!

i had this thought for my son as we were concerned about the prejudice that is prevalent here. we decided on ahmad deen, we call him deen as it means faith and is a known brit name. for a girl i would have chosen samiyah (the first martyr) for me this is a fabulous name for a girl, i also like halimah both these names can be shortened to sam or hali. i understand your question, by the way. :)
