Make sure it is something you want to do 24/7 for at least the next 18 years of your life.

It would depend on the age at which they told me this...
Preteen - Teen: I would set them up for the parenting class that has the babies that are set with a computer chip, records when they cry and the "parent" reactions..
I would probably also find a young teen mother who could let them see how hard life can be when having children at that age.
Then I would tell them of my own experience (I was a Mother only 6 months after turning 18, I love my children dearly and wouldnt change a thing.... but getting through college and everything with kids was hard and I didnt get things done as early in my life as I would have liked).

18 - 25: I would probably tell them that they should consider their finances and their relationship status... get into an in depth conversation with them about the why's and wherefor's of their decision... if they havent convinced themself it is the wrong time for them after that then it probably isnt and I would hug them and let them know I am there when they need me.

25 and over: Congratulate them and let them know I am there when they need me.

As long as your there to take care of your children, to shelter them, provide, and give them security and love, they can never be wrong.

Also that parenting can wait until the right person is found, and until a person is truly ready, because is not easy. There's a lot of sacrifices you do to be parents, because you give up thinking only for yourself.

Be consistent with discipline, be loving, be fair and remember that you yourself were young once.

and hugging a child is never spoiling a child.
