She is 2 1/2. She loves to play dress up. I don't want something that is difficult to walk in, cause the last 2 years I made her costumes and I went a little overboard cause she couldn't get around too well. When she was a baby she was Ariel The Little Mermaid and last year she was a fairy.

I have a 13 month old daughter. I hate to admitt that I have one of the biggest potty mouths ever! I have tried curbing my swaering habit around my kid and I have improved quite a bit. My biggest problem is when I am feeling frustrated and that's when the real bad words slip out of my mouth (like when I am running late, I'll have 50 things in one arm and the baby in the other and I am droping everything on my way to the car!). My daughter only says two words, uh-oh and mama, I would be beyond mortified if her third work was F***!!! Does any one have any ideas on what I can do to stop this horrible habit?

Well my parents are both from asia and i was born here in US and if any of you dont know, asian parents are very strict. I've been smoking weed for about 2 years and i'm not sure whether i should tell my parents or not. I dont think my parents know much about weed except its in the "drug" catagory and if its in the "drug" catagory it is not good. I even told my parents that i smoke ciggarettes and luckily they weren't VERY angry, just a little dissapointed and i'm pretty sure all of you know that ciggarettes are way worse then weed. What do you guys think i should do? I hate hiding that i smoke weed and going through all this stress everyday. I am an educated individual and i have researched the topic of marijuana before i tried it out. I know what it does and what it doesen't do to your body. I know how the government portrays it in bad way. I'm just asking the opinion of other parents on what i should do.

m'kay he is a 5'10, 17 yr. old male. i'll admit he used to be fit yet over the summer he slacked off & wit the help of his diet of sweets, binges, lack of exercise, etc. etc. he put on around 55lbs. -sighs-

i now weigh around 217+ lbs. (he went from the 55th to the 96th percentile for his weight) & if he keeps gaining like he has i dunno what to do. the only weird thing is 31in. jeans used to fall off of him. now i bought him a 36 or 38 in. belt & it wont even fit around him completely! he also has stretch marks on my upper thighs & side of my bulging belly (that is starting to hang) he almost have "moobs" & i can go on & on.

so in your opinion is he fat, just right or underweight?

he's currently @ a boarding school & i'm worried to death he'll come home bigger than ever!! what shall i do??

my kids don't seem to want to listen to me or my husband. They think that we are kidding with them all the time. If we try to discipline or yell, they just sit and cry, but still don't listen. They do what we tell them not to 5 min after they got in trouble. We are tired of constantly yelling at them

As a parent of two young children, I worry about their adult futures and how they will reflect on their childhood and my parenting. I am not chronically worried but just interested in knowing if any parents get it right and never fall from grace...so to speak.

The same basic principles apply, positive reinforcement whenever possible, immediate and physical negative reinforcement when neccessary, fairness, and consistency. It's not hard, and every dog owner I know understands these ideas intuitively. So why doesn't every parent apply these concepts?

Alriight heres the deal.. I have a 2 year old daughter that seems to be going through the "terrible" stage.. She cries and whines constantly and its hard to get her to sleep.. and when she does sleep she often wakes up, thus making me have to go through the whole process again.
Her mother was killed in a car wreck a few months ago, and Im just wondering, am I doing anything wrong, or is it just the terrible stage? Also any ideas on how to calm her?

I saw a question on here from last week and it ask what is the approperate age to leave children unattended in the bath tub, there were so many answers for the age 2 and 3....Does anyone else feel this is way too young to have their children alone in the tub...personally I think these people are totally irresponsible and should pick up a parenting book or something!! These parents need to get a clue and protect them...Accidents happen I wouldn't leave my little child unattended at that age...actually for several years after that, I rather be safe then sorry

Should kids in 5th -7th grade be forced to watch strangeland as a derterence of talking to strangers, sharing personal information on the internet with strangers, and all around talking/meeting the strangers?
we all know kids now adays will take what you try to teach them by telling them in one ear and out the other. the one true lesson can be taught through seeing the actual result of what you are trying to tell them as most kids will take your advice and go "whatever". quite honestly i think this movie is a better teacher than just a movie if better it could be a documentary of an actual event, actually im not too sure if it is or not but could have been.
My mother made me watch the movie when i was a young teen and told me on how this movie showed why you shouldnt personally meet strangers from the internet since you dont know who they are.all in all it was a good and educational movie i have learned well.

hi everybody i would call my doctors office but they closed at 5, lol so im gone ask yall. i already talk to my doctor about stoping the B/C and she said i could stop now or just take it until the pack runs out then she said just take it into it runs out. but to my knowledge at least on Ortho-tricyclenio Lo the last 7 pills don't do anything for u really. it is 4 rows, the first 7 are white, then light blue, then a darker blue, then the green. she said the green is really just a reminder pill its not important. so would it be ok to just stop after i take the last pill dark blue?

You know, a time when all went right between you and your kid/kids and you just sat back and "Hey, I'm not such a bad parent after all!" And you gave yourself a mental high five and a well deserved pat-on-the-back.
If so, what was it?

I am a mother of a beautiful seven month old boy and am caring for my five year old cousin. While I know it can be challenging at times, I don't understand why people make such a big deal out of it being so difficult. I feel that as long as you set a good example, love and most importantly try to do the best you can, you are a good parent. So why is it considered so "hard?"

We have a 10 month baby-girl. I'm looking for proffesional answers, is it ok for her to see me and my husband naked? Is it ok from now and on to go to shower with her? I heard some people do that, their kids see them naked all the time, (which didn't seem nice to me). And one night we were having sex, and i couldnt hold my tounge while having an orgasm and she heard us and woke up crying and looking at us, but we stoped at once, I am so worried that if she saw us, will it affect on her anything, is she gonna remember it as a bad memory or trauma. PLEASE HELP.

They irritate the living daylights out of me. I just came in from talking to a neighbor I try to avoid because her hooligan 3 year old son has the tendency to break into my house and take things. Anyway, despite her childs behavior, she found it necessary to give me a lecture about how my 6 year old son should not be allowed on the trampoline because they are dangerous for kids under 8, and how she'd never allow her kids to have a trampoline...and blah blah blah....yes sir, yes sir, 3 bags full.

It makes me think about the cyber personalities I encounter here who beleive all of us who have ever used formula for our babies should be crucified and stoned, along with the more traditional methods of parenting that are always taking a sucker punch up here (ie: spankings, firm talks, loss of priveledges, manual labor, increased chores).

She also beleives I am abusing my son by making him pull weeds for an hour after homework for not cleaning his room and smart mouthing me. Whatever.

My ex-husband decided that from the 2nd week of sept he did't want anything to do with our two boys who are 4 and 3. I do receive CSA (which took along time) from him but he doesnt want any involvement. The reason behind it is that, my eldest has now started primary school and I do live quite a fair way from it, which yes cost me money but its worth it as it is a good school. His excuse is that it would cost him to much money to take them there and back. But I even offered to take them to school so he will only has to pick them up.
Ive always let him before now to have them from monday afternoon to early wed afternoon (his choice because he was paying CSA) but he said that he wants them when he wants them, which is unfair to especially to them and also I don't want him to be a part time dad. To be truthful I don't think he is that bothered. Basically I like some advice I am at my wits end and because of this my eldest is lashing out at me. Which is being sorted.

Ive been married for a couple years and just had my first child. All of my friends are WONDERFUL but single and still partying a lot! I want friends to go to the park with and stuff like that. I dont want to ditch my new friends but could really use some conversation about children instead of trying to pick out an outfit to go out in for 2 hours, wierd how priorities change. The thing is Im 24 and am at home babysitting full time. I really just need a social change and dont know how to find it!!!!

About two weeks ago I did something that I am not proud of. I live with my mother and my brother. A week ago, for some strange reason my mother decided to try something new for lunch, “Mountain Oysters”. I thought they were some kind of oysters, but they did not seemed like oysters at all, they just looked like big oval white balls, about the size of two softballs. Anyway, when she told us that they were bull testicles….first I was shocked, then started laughing. My brother was just staring at them with a serious face. But then I noticed that my brother begin to blush, and I could not help but to laugh uncontrollable at him, and my mother too. Then she left to do some more shopping. First I was joking with him about the oysters, then got courage and picked up one of the “oysters” to embarrassed him even more. THEN I got a little carried away and without thinking just throw the “ball” very hard into his balls!!! He doubled over to his knees and then fell to the side, his face became pale, he was down for more than five minutes, and the sight of him holding his balls with the big ball just next to him was too much for me, and I laughed so hard that I had tears in my eyes! He then got up, and was real mad, and just locked himself in his room. He never told my mother, I guess he was too embarrassed. He did not eat the oysters, lol.
I have been asking for his forgiveness but he do speak to me and do not even look at me!, my mother suspects that something is wrong. What can I do?
