Looks milky white? It could be thrush, a fungal infection. It's pretty common in babies/younger children (don't know how young your daughter is). To treat, you'll have to get an anti-fungal med from the pediatrician, a gel like substance that you brush on the surfaces in the mouth.

It sounds like thrush to me as well. Thrush is similar to a yeast infection, except that it occurs in the mouth. Babies get them all the time for varying reasons. Sometimes they get it from putting a dirty toy or binky in their mouth or they can just pop up out of nowhere.

Unless the blistering is very severe or red in appearance, they are very easily treated without a doctor's visit. Gentian Violet is an antispetic dye that can be found at many drugstores. You simply apply it to the affected areas of the mouth according to the directions and it will heal in a day or two.

Another home remedy that I personally have found VERY effective is the use of plain yogurt in the place of Gentian Violet. A pea-sized amount rubbed around the baby's mouth a few times a day will work as well as Gentian Violet. The organisms in the yogurt drive out the thrush without the staining that sometimes occurs with Gentian Violet plus it also helps with baby's digestion. Just be sure your baby is not lactose intolerant and this cure should be fine.

Remember! If you are not sure about whether it is thrush or perhaps cold sores it is wisest to call your doctor for advice.

I noticed you didn't post her age, but for older kids I know they often will recommend a product called sooth-and-seal or making a mixture of antacid and benedyl into a paste to apply it to the blisters. I wouldn't do either of these without talking to the pediatrician again first. Also depending on her age you could be giving her tylenol or ibuprofen as ordered by the doctor, they would both be safe with the codeine. Other than that if she is on solids I would stick with just bland cereals and for liquids milk or formula. Sometimes with the blisters cold fluids feel better than warm, so depending on her age you might try a little cooler formula, and also if she is old enough popsicles or pedialyte might be good. Good luck, I hope it's just hand foot and mouth or something that will resolve shortly!

It sound like Thrush to me. Probably from a rubber nipple or cup that has not been disinfected properly. Sometimes it just happens. You can get an anti fungal medication to use orally from your doctor or if you are into going the natural route you can buy Genitan Violet from the Health Food Store. Messy but works well. If you nurse then you may have it too....

I would bet that the sores in her mouth are hand foot and mouth disease. It is contagious and can be painful. I would take her to the doctor to make sure, they can give her some medicine to make it go away. My mom runs a daycare, and they recently had an outbreak of it. Sore can appear in the mouth, on hands and feet. The sooner you get her to the doctor, the faster you will get medicine and it wont be contagious anymore.

It could be thrush, or a fungal problem, or hand-foot-mouth disease. This is easily spread with small children who constantly put their hands and other objects into their mouths. Blisters of any kind should be checked out by your child's doctor.

Yes, I agree -- it sounds like Thrush. VERY PAINFUL and Very contagious, you will probably get it. Most pharmacies have what is called 'miracle mouthwash', they must mix the ingredients, but it is basically a peroxide mixture that will temporarily numb her mouth. Lasts about 10 days.

You don't say how old your daughter is. however, she could have a simplecase of thrush, orshe could have burnt her mouth. take her to the doctor or emergency room. its better to look stupid if its thrush than to have her scarred for life if it is something serious.
