It is your house. And that means your rules. You should calmly talk with your sister about her son's behavior. There is no reason what so ever a one year old should be "toughened" up. All that is going to do is teach him how to be mean at a very early age. Tell your sister that YOUR family comes first and if she cant find a way to curb her son's behavior and get him on a more constructive and positive path while he is in your home that they are going to have to find another place to live. There is no reason for a one year to be bullying anyone.

Well it's your house, and you should make sure that your sister and her husband keep their child under control. Perhaps, a "private" talk with your nephew will do the trick though, if not then talk to the your sis, I'm sure she'll understand. Remember, he's only 1 years old so the lil bully's habits can still be changed (with time of course), don't use extensively large words because they may confuse him, and last but not least make sure that your son and your nephew learn to stick together.

OH AND P.S!!!!! right after you talk to your nephew, talk 2 his mother, and let her know exactly what you told him, or your nephew might start more trouble.

They live with you! If it is your home, you lay down the rules!! Do not have your child suffer so that you don't have to hurt your sister's feelings. Your baby comes first. Getting beat down all the time could really hurt his confidence.

It's your home. Tell them their sons behavior is not acceptable. If they don't take steps to correct the situation, they can find another place to live.
