My 7 yr old cries all the time. You can tell her to do something or ask her not to and she just creid about it. I can put her in time out or in her room and tell her if she quits crying that she can come out...she will say I CAN'T. No she isn't spolied she has rules here. She goes to her dads on the weekends, could that be a big part of it? She has 2 different sets of rules. How can I reason with her? Her and her sister fight all the time and then see lies about it.

My husband and I are discussing the possibility of adopting a baby. We have 3 children ages 4, 3, and 11 months. And they are all biologically both of ours. I want a fourth baby. And I feel that there are children out there that need a family, so why have another one when we can fill that need for one child. Anyway, I guess I want to hear people's opinions about the idea, especially if you have been involved in an adoption in your own life. We intend to adopt a caucasion baby internationally. Caucasion, because I already have 3 caucasion children and I don't want the child to feel different due to that. And international so that it will be a child that may not otherwise get adopted. Any thoughts, websites, etc. are appreciated. Thanks.

What I meant was....describe for me a moment during your life where your son/daughter did something that made you think, "I love this boy/girl."

I have a 7month old girl and she is my world. She doesnt do a lot at this age. But when she smiles and sticks her tongue out. It makes me feel such immense love for her. I love her reaching for my face and when shes sleeping, I pick her up and she lays her head on my shoulders.

What cute kid or baby stories could you share that makes your heart flutter? I'd love to hear what other parents experience with their growing little ones.

My 5 year old daughter makes me want to SCREAM............She always picks on her 2year old sister, she never wants to go to sleep unless my husband or I stay lay beside her until she falls asleep;
She picks fights with children in the park and even has an attitude when she speaks to grown up.
For example today she wanted to through away an empty plastic bottle after someone's granny, because she couldn't catch the girl she wanted to have a fight with. I told her she shouldn't do that and she said : the battle wouldn't have heart her. She doesn't understand that she shouldn't do it anyway.
Today there were three girls in the park all playing together. She asked them if she could joyn and when they said no, she wanted to hit them. I felt sorry for her because the girls refused to let her play but I know she didn't have to hit them.
I even had to fight with those girl's parents over this issue.
Sometimes she is a good girl, but other times I feel I can't take it. Can you help?

My step-daughter is 15 going on 16. Her mom does not discipline her very well, however her father and I do. She starting getting permission from her mom to have a few drinks.. her mom even bought them for her! Now I was this age once and although I think it's better to have it supervised, she's getting to the point where she thinks it's ok every weekend with her friends! Any suggestions as to how to at least make her responsible with it for her safety? What age do you think is appropriate?

When did they start the crying? When you were in labor pains, during crowning/incision(c-section), actual delivery, or a few momentas after, or all of the above. Just wanting to know so I can go ball my eyes out and be sad since I got none of the above from my man. I just know I sound insane, but you ladies are so very heavenly blessed. please know that. I'd give anything to have had what you did. And I had a complicated, hypertensive delivery, so both of us being A-ok was a miracle. My husband is unbeleiveable

Who is just starting to walk? My coffee table does not have sharp corners but it is made of a soft wood. Is it safe to remove it from the room all together or is best to leave it there so a child can use it to support himself while learning to walk?

What did you do?

This day in age, most of us all have to work a job. The stay at home Mom is almost a thing of the past. I say, you make your own bed so sleep in it. Kids are way too difficult.

If I get pregnant again the Dr. wants to see me as soon as possible to find out where the egg implanted. If the egg implanted on the wrong part of my uterus there is no question that I will have a misscarriage. Would you want to find out?

If you are going to have only two children, how far apart do you think the children should be spaced?

One year, two years, three, more than 3?

What’s your opinion and why?

I feel disconnected from myself, other people and life. I'm 16, and I know it's normal but I just need a little support.

Also should spanking be considered child abuse? I believe a simple spanking shouldn't, how about you?

I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 5 month old. I lack a good schedule or routine. Any suggestions. From the time that you get to the time you go to sleep what is a good routine that works and gets everything done that a stay at home mom needs to do. My mother was a terrible role model.

First off, I work for CPS, and spanking a child, leaving no mark, is NOT abuse. I'm talking about letting them run loose in the streets gummy faced like little animals clad only in diapers, and then get mad when I have to do my job. Why are you mad? You chose to abuse and neglect them, no one out a weapon to you and made you do it. Why do you abuse them?

Why do people start hating on me when they find out that I never want to have children. After telling someone this I usually get a strange look and then they try to convince of how great it is to be a mother. Don't they realize that not every woman wants to be a mom and not every man wants to be a dad? What do you think?

Last night, the local cops had to escort myself and a fellow case worker on base to the MP's, so they could escort us to a military home where the service member, an E-4, was absent (AWOL) I assume...and the family had 4 kids, all up TO age four. The baby was in a very soaked and soiled diaper upon our arrival. The two middle children had to be rounded up by the MP's because they were out wandering the neighborhood unsupervised, and the other kid had intoxicated himself to the point of passing out from a mixed drink that the mother left on the kitchen table within the children's reach. The mother was not even HOME when we got there, it was on a tip from a neighbor who saw her leave, screen door wide open and all, without her kids. Not to mention the house was two kinds of filthy. More military brats you all create, and we the county, have an obligation by the state to take. thought you needed a dose of reality.

My ex and I have been divorced for 4 years. For the last 2 1/2 we have had joint custody but the boys ages 9 & 11 live with their dad most of the time and I get to keep them everyother weekend and once a week except this summer we take turns keeping them a week at a time everyother week. The problem is that my 9 year old last night realized that they go back to their dads tonight for the week and he locked himself in his room and packed his backpack and told his brother he was going to run away. Well, I knew he really wasn't and tried to talk to him and I also called his dad to see if he could spend some time with them and talk things out because when he does have them his job keeps him from them most of the time. I know they aren't being abused or anything like that. Their dad loves them but I know they want to live with me and their dad won't let them because he doesn't want to pay child support. It won't work to go to court. There has to be a major change in circumstances.

Will someone please explain in a NICE way.

She lives in Florida and I live in Illinois. We have two girls together. She left when My oldest was a little over a year old and my youngest was three months old. It's been over 8 years and she still refuses to pay. The state of Florida is trying to enforce my child support. They suspended her driving license and will take her taxes, if she ever files. Every time they locate her, to get money from her wages, she quits her job. I call them every week to find out what the status of my case is and they really don't seem to be doing all they could. I can't afford a lawyer on my own. I have tried to ask, beg and plead with her for help with our girls and she refuses. Her family don't seem to care about my situation either. I don't have family that can help me. I'm on a sinking ship. I moved to Illinois because of better employment opportunities, but my income is not enough. Public aid in Illinois tells me I make to much to help me, but that is a joke. Any ideas on what I can do?
