Ok heres the deal, my little girl was 7 pounds 9 ounces when she was born. she was 2 days over due. She is now about to turn 3. She has always been kinda tall and petite, almost skinny, but not sick looking. I took her in for a doctors appointment today and she was weighed and mesured. She was 34 inches tall and only weighed 21 pounds! She has no medical problems that I am aware of. She dosent eat much, but when she does she really EATS! She eats her 3 meals a day, but not all of it, all the time. I guess my question is, am i a bad parent because my 3 year old only weighs 21 pounds?!? Her ribs ARE NOT sticking out or anything. And the doc even said she looked very well fed, that she was just a very active little girl with a high metabolism. But for some reason that dosent make me feel any better. Now Im not skinny, Im kinda heavy and have always been. I would really just like some other mothers advice about this, especially if this has happened to you. serious answers only please! thx!

My boys are 13 months apart. 1.5 yrs and 2.5 yrs. They share a room. The 1.5 just went into a toddler bed 4 nights ago. Now all they do is fool around. It takes me an hour and a half to get them to finally fall asleep. any helpful hints? I do sit outside their room, i check on them every 2 minutes...any other ideas? and YES i have spanked them many a time, they just smirk at me. I do not normally have a problem with them listening, and usually one spank, or a time out is all i need. But this bed time stuff...I DONT KNOW!!!! ( and no, seperate rooms are not an option. baby #3 is on the way and they have to get used to sharing a room.)

do you get blown away by the stories you here? i'm talking about everything from columbine to that girl who ran off to jordan, to my own family members... that didnt happen in my day (i'm only 23 so my day isnt that far back). what is up with these kids today? never heard of any of it when i was growing up... no we didnt have internet but we had everything else, guns, gangs, sex, drugs, you name it. whats so different now that the kids these days are so out of control? wheres the discipline?

i think its the whole you dont belive in spanking the kid (I SAID SPANK NOT BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF). they just walk all over everyone and get away with it or a time out in there rooms with tv an xbox and a pc. so its the parents' fault. god bless any parent who is doing their thing and has raising good kids, aparently its the hardest thing to do.

She has only just turned two and I was just wondering if anyone out there has had anything similar happen to them and what they did about it. My daughter is beautiful, we live in Australia and she is African-American/NativeAmerican/Australian and stands out cause she doesnt look like other kids here. I have been asked before if she does modelling and told that I should get her into it, but I am very skeptical about the whole "child working" thing. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

What I mean is "Bite your child back to teach them to stop biting." or "Just spank, slap, whip, or hit them when they misbehave."
And my favorite: "Just put hotsauce on their fingers." I feel so sorry for all these poor kids. What do you think? I think it is all a form of abuse.
I am so tired of the ignorance I guess.

OK, I understand that many people on here do not believe in spanking children. I get that!! Those of you who feel this way...... DON'T ANSWER!!! I want to know from those of you who feel that spanking is an appropriate method of discipline..... How do YOU spank YOUR children? What do you use? Do you keep it very routine and do it in the same room every time? Do you take their pants down? Do you keep it private? Any info would be helpful......

And if you would like to make a rude comment about me being a young mother, email it to me personally, or shove it where the sun don't shine!

at what age does "the terrible two's " begin. My son is 20 months old and he has been throwing a lot of tantrums lately. Or could this be because I go to school in the evenings and he is mad at me for leaving him with his Grandma?

I put this in parenting because I know parents know a lot about immunization.
I want to get the vaccines I never had as a child. I know I never had the ones for Hep. A or B, meningitis, or pneumonia. I am a very sickly type person and want to get these even if they're not required. Can I go and start these all in one day? Shots really don't bother me so that's not an issue. I just wanna get them done ASAP. How many can a doctor give in one day. Can I get all those?

someone falsely accused me of abusing my children. on top of the fact that i can no longer spank when necessary for fear of losing them, when cps did not find any proof of abuse, they tried to come after us to prove us as unfit parents, why are they wasting their resources on me, a good parent, instead of turning to children who really need help?
