hi I'm a nutritionist
you can give her any type of juice as long as she hasn't had a bad reaction to it.
you have to dilute the juice 1 to 1 with water at this age
she should not be drinking more than 4 oz or 1/2cup a day
you cannot give juice in a bottle or a cup with a flow valve (no sippy cups with juice!!they cause nursing bottle syndrome pic here http://doctorspiller.com/images/Pedo/nursingBottleSyndrome(large).jpg )
water is much better for your child when she is thirsty
whole fruit contains more nutrients than 100% fruit juice
even 100% juice is little more than sugar and water

If you give her juice, dilute it 50/50 with water.
Juice has a lot of SUGAR in it. Check the labels.
I always stuck with Gerber Juice until my kids were OLDER 2/3 yrs old.

actually, juice isn't as great for kids as many people think. Most juice you buy in a store is full of sugar and preservatives. If your child can drink water, then he/she can drink juice. Just make sure you are making a healthy choice when you are in the store.

Stick with Gerber, Beechnut or other juices produced just for babies. Gerber makes one that is half juice and half filtered water so it has less sugar and at Walmart they are only $1.50 a bottle. My son is almost 2 and he still gets water added to his juice due to the high sugar content. Even if they say "No sugar added" it is still in high sugar because of the natural sugar because it takes so much fruit to make 1, 8 oz glass of juice and all that sugar is not good for their teeth. And to counter the statement above. Babies do not all like bland foods. A lot of toddlers and older kids are EXTREMELY picky eaters because parents give them such bland foods as babies. My son eats almost all veggies and loves food with garlic and other spices. Getting them started early on those kinds of food helps them accept new foods as they get older.

My Pediatrician recommends White grape juice half strength. Avoid OJ for a while longer because of the high acidity

My 8 month old loves white grape peach. I water it down with 2 ounces of water for every 4 ounces of juice. Just remember, if it's stroong to you, it's really strong to her. Most babies prefer bland foods and drinks.
