Make it a reward for doing something usefull around the house.
For every single chore or something give him 20 to 30 minutes of gametime or something, and let it accumulate then let him burn it up on a rainy day or something.
Just don't let the kid turn into a blob while playing video games all his teen years sucking down Mt Dew, and becoming an anti-social.
This will do no one any good, especially him/her. Without people skills, you get no where in life.

Let him have some fun BUT you are the boss.Monitor his games and what you don't like restrict him from them. If the problem is that he won't get off the computer when you tell him, this is also up to you to restrict his access to the computer. Your question was not very specific, I hope this helps.

"Pediatricians, Dr. Broughton and Free said, should advise parents to do the following:
* Learn about computers. Too often, kids know more than their parents and therefore can conceal their activities.
* Limit use of media (including computers) to no more than two hours a day.
* Set up the computer in a public area of the house where parents can monitor activities.
* Instruct children not to provide personal information, including pictures, addresses or telephone numbers.
* Tell children that they should not respond to messages that upset them. "

just let him, but make it so many hours he's allowed to spend on the net,
dont worry about **** control on the net, because if he wants it or not, he'll get it on the internet or any other way.
the best way to grow up is experiencing things.
as long as he doesnt becoming addicted its o.k
