I can understand not wanting to be overbearing, but I also don't want to have a superficial relationship in which we only talk about the weather and not personal things. Whats the limit?

My child is 8 months old and his dad has done absolutely nothing for him....Not even a stinkin rattle! THEY ONLY COST A DOLLAR FOR GOD SAKE!!! hewww....O.K! Recently, I was homeless and had nowhere to go so he took my son and I in for a week. While we stayed with him, he was asking ME for money (What the ****?!) O.K, Now that I have my own place, he comes by and tries to stay the night (by the way, he didn't give me any money to help me move nor did he help me move my things into my new place). I had to depend on the kindness of strangers to get my things moved in because he was nowhere to be found. He comes by and eats food that he didn't buy and wants to sleep in a bed that he didn't buy and wants to LOOK in my our son's face! Why? The clothes he has on, either me or a member of my family provided it for him. I don't want to cut him out of our lives compeletly but I don't really know what else to do. He can't keep reaping the benefits of all of my hard work and my familys' kindness!

I am in AA, and I am approaching 3 mos. clean. I am enrolled in parenting, as well. My visitation was suspended as my disease caused me to be "in and out" of their lives. I have been to therapy. I am in need of legal advice, as to my rights and individual situation(s). Any counsel reommendations would be appreciated. Other than that I will give time, time. I just would like to know of any thoughts or facts that could help me reach my goal of being reunited with them.
God bless and thanks,
Cyn

Do they really expect a thug or a lay-about do what only a man can? Then when they see how the child is hurt by the father's absence, the blame is placed solely on the absent father. But it took two to create the sad situation!

Six years ago, my husband committed suiside, my kids were 11 and 7 years old. He rammed his car into an oncoming truck and yes there were witnesses. My kids still think it was an accident and put him on a pedistal. How do I tell them the truth now. I feel I need too, he was selfish and left us to fend for ourselves and I have suffered since then to try and provide for them. Should I tell them so they get the picture I can;t always provide maybe then they will understand why I can't always afford nice things for them. He did not believe in policies, he only had one and because it was self infliction they did not pay the whole policy. I don't know what I should do!!!!!!

my daughter is nearly 20 months old and she is usually well behaved, although lately her behaviour has become a little more negative than usual. She is already taking tantrums and kicks her legs around, she behaves even worst when people come to visit, and she is very wingy lately and gets stressed a lot over little things. this doesnt happen very often, usually when we have visitors, but when it does happen i find it difficult to cope, especially when my partner is at work and we also have a baby girl aged 3 months too. I do a behaviour chart and she gets a treat at the end of the week if she has been quite good all week, ive also started time out too. Does anyone have any other ideas to try to dicipline her please, and is anyone else in the same situation?

I have a 7 month old I'd like to get into his own crib. He's never slept in it, only knows it as a playtime place because I've set him in there to play with his mobile for 30 minutes or so while I go do something. He slept in a changer in our room for 2 months 5 months ago but I'd like to start helping him sleep in his crib. Open to ideas but prefer not letting him just cry. thanks for the answers

I have 2 kids....a daughter, who will be 7 on the 14th of this month, & an 8 yr old son......My son does dishes, helps take out the trash & helps me with laundry.....My Daughter helps with laundry..she is the sorter....picks up toys, clothes, & papers....picks up her won room.....My son told me it is unfair that she doesnt have to do dishes...I told him, he is older, so sometimes, more is expected of him. My daughter can't really reach the sink...even when standing on a stool...& I dont trust the standing in a chair...so she doesnt have dish duty yet...After, I said this to him....I felt kind of bad about it....I remembered how it would make me feel when Mom would say it to me, when I was a kid......Was I wrong in telling him this?....Should I apologize?.....They each have their own sets of chores to do to get their allowances.....

you wouldnt have a home, cool clothes or toys for your kids, a suv to drive them in and without money you would always be stressed out by bills piling up and therefore would probably get in a bad mood???
So with money you dont have to worry about these things and can be in a good mood for your children...happy mom or dad=happy kids.
YES OR NO???

Ok, my son is 8, he is 4 foot 5 and weighs around 95 pounds. I am 5 foot 4 and weigh around 115 and my husband is 6 foot 2 and weighs around 225. Neither of us is overweight.......will my son be overweight? I have really tried to control his eating habits lately and my husband swears he'll outgrow his weight but I am concerned. AND PLEASE KNOW THAT MY SON DOES NOT CONSIDER HIMSELF OVERWEIGHT, AND WE NEVER TALK ABOUT HIS WEIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM....though I am worried he will get made fun of this coming school year.....any advice?
