i was not being racist. kids can be cruel and i'm just trying to understand before something happens. i love my son. i know how it is to get teased because the color of your skin. i am very light skinned and i grew up as an african-american. i was still teased by my family and classmates. because i took after my fathers side, where there are indians, white, black, and so on.
i was called white boy by the black kids, and my mothers side were all dark skinned .

I don't understand why you would have a question about this..Kids nowadays that are new school age, don't see color in people.

My children are Mexican/White The boys are 8 & 10. The 8 year old has few friends but everyone follows him like crazy. My 10 year old has so many friends I cant keep up with them all. All kids get teased in school. But I know what you mean. Depending on how diverse your area is they should be fine.

I would think if you live in a diverse area, you son will fit right in. How old is he anyways...if he's in jr high or younger then he'll get teased no matter what....ever kid will. With that mix though, i'll bet he'll be a cutie when he's older and all the ladies will be after him!

Yeah! And after questions like that, you say - Whites are racists! You, yourself, separate your son by stating him as Mexican or whatever, and drawing so much attention to this. Why would he be accepted differently?! There are millions of schools with children of different background - and they all are alright.

Don't make a big deal out of it. If it happens you encourage him. Just don't let him think that you feel like, "OH my poor baby!". And don't teach him to hate to make it better.
