I was in a nearly 8 year relationship we had a daughter age 6 at the time of break up. She is now 8 and her father has not seen her, sent a birthday card, paid any support, in over two years. She has to see a counslor and has been in a mental hospital 2 times because she is confused and feels adondon by her dad. I have begged him via e-mail to be involved and visit her. He NEVER writes me back. She calls him now and then he dose not call her saying he has no long distance on his phone. He was a bad provider and bad father the 8 years we were together, lil has changed I guess. The question is how do I help her understand he has CHOSEN to not be a father. He also has a 12 year old he pays no support to and has no contact with. My daughter cry's for him and i'm left picking up his crap. I ca't get him to understand I ONLY want him around 4 her sake. This breaks my heart to see her so torn. I know he'll never have to face what he's done to her.

I am a single mom of a 5 yr old boy. I am currently in the Army reserves and serving in Iraq. I will be going home in August for two weeks leave, and then returning to Iraq for a few more months. My son will start kindergarden while I am home. My mom has been looking after my son while I am away. I will admit I am nervous about going home and trying to be a "mom" again for two weeks. I havent been home since September of 2005. I call my son on the phone on a regular basis. I am at a loss for things to do with him when I am home to visit. If I had it my way I would start hugging him the minute I see him and not let go until the minute it is time to leave. (Obviously that can't happen) So my question for you is... What are some fun and creative things that my son and I can do while I am home visiting?

Right now she has her father's last name but I want her to have mines. He only pays one hundred dollars a month for child support and he never complies with the visitation. In fact he only sees her when I seem to need a baby-sitter which is next to never (I rather have family baby sit). He doesn't call to see how she is doing, in fact if she was to get hit by a car (goodness forbid) and I called him right now to tell him, most likely I wouldn't be able to get through. The main reason why I think he wanted to have our daughter is because he wanted me to stay with him (how many of you heard that?) but because I don't want to be with him anymore, it's like he's a father when it is convenient and necessary for him. So I think I'm justifiably right to want to change her name but I know I will have a problem presenting this to him (of course) but really...should I?

my husband wants me to start mixing milk with his formula and I have always heard that if you give a child milk before they are a year old it can cause them to have worse allergies.. he's almost eight months, and a friend of ours did this with their child at five months but im just not sure about it.

UGH! I got lipstick smacked TWICE today!
I was at the mall with my best friend and we ran into my Aunt Cassie and my Great Aunt Gen. I love them both, they're awesome but... I gave my aunt Cassie a hug and kiss and she kissed my left cheek. She smiled and said "oops, I got a little lipstick!" she used her thumb to wipe it off. Not bad, she wears a light brown shade, probably didn't leave much of a mark... We chatted and I hugged them both good bye, and my Aunt Gen kissed me on the OTHER cheek! This was a problem, because she wears totally RED lipstick and she puts a TON of it on! I smiled and me and my friend started to walk away. She bursts out laughing and says "You got lipsticked BIG TIME" I ran to a mirror, and I swear to god, I had the Brightest, Reddest Lipstick Print you have ever seen, right in the middle of my cheek! In the middle of the mall! I had to run to the bathroom and Scrub, and scrub and scrub! I thought that lipstick would NEVER come off! It totally sucked!
