That's my sisters name. I think a lot of the americans on this site would be unsure of how you pronounce the name. My best friend has also called her little girl the same, however she spells it Orla. Personally, I love Irish names and if I do have kids I plan on giving them Irish names.

Very nice Irish name pronounce 'ORLA'

but it's become popular because of the girl from last years big brother, who was a bit of a tart.

However people will forget her in a couple of years

Go for it

Weird! Do you want your child to be laughed at all throughout its life? There is however a traditional Irish girl's name called Orla, so if your child is a girl consider this instead

I dont like it at all!! what the heck are parents thinking naming their kids all this weird stuff.

think about it.. you will never EVER be able to buy the kid anything with a name, like a license for the bicycle or a pen with their name on it. its cruel.

the name originated from northern Scotland, possibly from Scandinavia ( I.e from the viking trade routes and invasions), it connotes beauty, strength and courage in Celtic, I'm not to sure about the Nordic translation
