I was arrested for the first time in my life, for suspicion of assault.
The claim was made by a girl who once came to my home, drunk (underage) and tried to get into my house to find something to strike me with.
She knows me, so gave an accurate description, apart from the fact I don't own a 'beige jacket'.
I used to be a 'regular' at the pub where the alleged assault took place. I'm not on CCTV and wasn't seen by the staff because I wasn't there.
Her 'witnesses' are her 'toy-boys'.
She also claimed I phoned her shortly after, but I gave the police my number and told them to check the phone records.
I have people who can confirm my true whereabouts that night.
Is there anything I can do to have this prat charged or similar? Wasting police time or something?

In a nutshell--

I brought a watch in for a new battery to my local jewelry store. They didn't have to tools to replace the battery there, so they sent it to a watch repair person that they contract with to replace the battery.

My watch worked fine before the battery ran out, but when I picked it up at the jewelry store after the repairman changed the battery, it was completely messed up. So I brought it back and they sent it back to him, and he returned it saying it was unrepairable and there was nothing he could do.

I at least wanted to call him and ask what exactly the problem was. Seems to me that it got messed up when he put the new battery in.

However, the jewelry store outright refused to give me his name or any info. I find that odd that they wouldn't give me his name. I'm not looking to take him to small claims or anything--just want an explanation.

Question: Can the jewelry store withhold the name of their contractor who serviced my watch?

you will get .44 a mile. If you drive lets say a Honda like me, you will only get .40 a mile. I told my boss it was discrimination but he says he will only pay a higher rate if you drive a Ford, Dodge, or Chevy. I told Him that Ford owned Honda but it still did not matter.

Help!!

How come in other foreign countries when a person wrongs someone that person faces immediate repercussions - such as a punch to the face or a kick to the azz.. No police, no court - nothing. This country is hell bent on keeping citizens in a box. They have a damm law, rule or regulation for everything. America truly is a control freakish country and the many that live here walk around blind to it. When did you think that you should let the law handle the person that just punched you in the face? ( not written law, but known ) How did you feel when you thought you shouldn't be spending time or be friendly with younger kids ( not written law, but known by lots of men ) Comments?

I need an attorney or an organization knowledgable in ADA and civil rights law that is willing to take on a class action suit for discrimination and civil rights violations. The attorneys I have spoken to either are not knowledgable in both areas or claim it will be a conflict of interest. I have found one, but I can not afford the retainer. Also, Wisconsin Judicare can't help me.

Because of this, I am forced to park in front of my mailbox. It is not a problem during the week because I am at work when the mail runs, but on Saturdays, the mail lady will not deliver. The neighbors have room in their driveway for the van, but don't park it there.

Is there anything you CAN do? Just asking cause i remember times cops can be mean and are scary.
Also i once went to get a criminal record check and rang the bell twice and a cop said "If you ring that bell one more f***ing time i will throw you in the cells". I was shocked and upset at what he said.

Should marijuana be decriminalized and or legalized entirely? Our last two presidents (U.S.) admitted to using it in their youth. Supreme court justices, Lawyers, doctors, grandmothers, etc.
Should we be handing out jail sentences, or big bowls of M&M's?
What do you think....?

I just went through a divorce.... and wow did i get so scammed from the lawyer. I KNOW not all lawyers are bad ( my dad was one and he is the best man i know), and i know they have a bad rap. I spent SO much money- and basically had to do all the work except for the legal documents. I ended up dealing with my ex in the end and resolved everything. I had a worse time dealing with my attorney than dealing with my ex. I felt like i was working for him and not the other way around... like it was such a chore for him. Well- i know its done and i should move on. Thanx for letting me vent- just wanted to know if anyone had same experience.

About two months ago my assistant recieved a phone call from the police that a teenager had broken into her house and was attacked by her dog (a 3 yr old white pitbull). The boy called 911 from the house and the poilce needed her to come get the dog so this kid could get medical attention. ( seems the dog bit off his left buttock). After the boy got out of the hospital (3 wks) he sued and won $150,000 for medical expensese. The reason .. she did not have a beware of dog sign posted. He was charged w/ breaking and entering but as he was only 15 the punishment was probated? does this seem fair?
