One of the lessons of the Nuremburg War Crimes Trials of Germans after Germany’s defeat in WW II was that obeying orders is no excuse for war crimes. US prosecutors took the position that the German military should have refused to obey Hitler’s orders.

Chief US prosecutor Robert Jackson established that military aggression was a war crime.

US Army Lieutenant Ehren Watada took the Nuremburg lesson to heart. He refused to deploy to Iraq on the solid grounds that the war is illegal, which it is under the Nuremburg standard, and that he cannot order troops under his command to commit illegal actions.

Watada is correct. If the US general staff had the integrity of Lt. Watada, America and Iraq would have been spared the pointless and bloody conflict. Bush was able to illegally initiate the conflict, because the American military behaved exactly as the German military and followed the orders of a criminal commander-in-chief. Watada must be court-martialed in order to protect Bush

We have a town ordinance against unlicensed vehicles on your property. What I see happening is not only this ordianance being ignored, but by two of the city employees. How can this happen? Calls to the town mayor and aldermen only result in being put off. Why can nothing be done about this. Who can I contact? If this ordinance is not upheld, then what of the others?

When did it become illegal to kill a man in the United States? I read (on a random fact website) that it was not a felony to assassinate a president until after Kennedy was killed. Whether it is true or not, I would like to know when exactly murder became illegal. Please cite sources.

As part of a divorce settlement a property has been bought and a £35,000 charge placed on the property. So if my friend marries, co-habits with a new partner or when her youngest child turns 17 the charge is due to be paid back. As my friend has a bad credit rating and does not work she would not qualify to take out a loan. Can the ex force the sale of the property to repay the charge? Is there a way to get around not repaying the charge?

I have just purchased an apartment in western sydney. I've done various inspections but none at night. Last night i went over to show my folks the place i'd bought when i heard the whole roof vibrating. It is caused by an exhaust fan on my roof from the chinese restaurant down stairs which only operates at night.
I'm afraid i'll have trouble keeping tennants with this noise... does anyone out there know how to handle this problem legally in australia??? I want to know as much as i can before i approach the body corporate and the owner of the restaurant. Any help would be appreciated.

PS. the fan and ducting are installed in a sub standard way where the duct is sitting directly on the roof tiles and the fan has someserious shaking going on.
