No lecture from me...You have every right to carry a gun.WHY ? Because the criminal does not obey gun laws .Simple as that...I moved to the state of VA from WV because ,in WV you have to have a permit to carry ,concealed or unconcealed. But in VA you can carry unconcealed with out a permit. Its written into The Great State of Virgina's Constitution. There are websites out there that can help you get a permit .PACKING is one.Join the NRA ,there the best.Gun clubs are always helpful.Good luck.

What type of gun? Not too difficult to get a shot gun licence - get form from police station, fill it in and get it countersigned by doctor lawyer etc.

For a rifle you will need a Firearms Certificate - with this you have to show why you need the weapon - you may be a game keeper or the like. You cannot get a Firearms Cert if you have a criminal record.

Airgun; no licence needed.

yes a licensed gun maybe better than an unlicensed, but why would you need one????? i know u dont want a lecture so i wont bother but seriously i am interested why do u feel u need one? is it for protection? or for sport or something?
Am not trying to lecture you its just i would never want to own one and am interested in why other people would?
In answer to your question i have no idea u havent mentioned where u live for one thing it will vary on that.

Fortunatly, very difficult, except in America where any looney can have one.

Failing that, they join the army or police force, which confirms them as loonies, and they get a gun.
