in my opinion, it depends on how you perceive equality and freedom.
some say that with equality, you achieve freedom. that way, life is fair. there isn't necessarily discrimination. there wouldn't really be a wide gap between people when it comes to social status. however, there's a tendency for a "slow down" in advancement. by keeping all people at an "equilibrium", perhaps it would be like witholding action for modernization in an implied sense.
some say that freedom includes equality. everyone gets a chance to have a say in various matters. individuals are essential to overall improvement. there seems to be a wider range of possibility. however, there's that thing with differing social status. rich people sometimes just stay rich and work for their own betterment. some of the unfortunate feel too unfortunate to rise up from their current situation.
in general, there should just be a balance. perhaps the essential thing is RESPECT. if you respect the rights of others, you are open to differences and possibilities. there would not necessarily be an issue on inequality if you learn to respect people's rights and beliefs (even if you don't really agree with them). respect is also needed for the benefit of freedom. after all, in freedom, you may do as you believe with respect with the consequence it brings.

Freedom is equal rights for all.
Just as it hold true in nature, where we see examples of true freedom with freewill that we all have. That is why, we all are free to choose our destiny no matter what circumstance we might have been born into, we are all free to choose our life path and hence its destiny, fate is never a detriment for any achiever only a propeller and a guide.

I really don't fully understand the premise of your question, but, equal rights and freedom, walks hand in hand. Maybe re-phrasing may help get a better answer and I may or may not edit. But, it is your question that developed this answer.

Equal rights. Freedom is just another word for Anarchy.
If we let people do what ever they want, they will opress some one else. I know if I had a gun and someone else doesn't I would force them to do my will.

Freedom, of course. Coercion will only result in the exact opposite of what it intends to achieve. Forcing people to "act equal" will only result in even more inequality. Let people learn on their own, it's slow, but it's the only damn way.

YOU MAY INADVERTENTLY ESCAPE WITH YOUR QUESTION AND NOT KNOW THAT NEITHER EXIST~WE HAVE NOTHING THAT CAN'T BE TAKEN AWAY JUST ABOUT THE TIME YOU THOUGHT IT WAS A RIGHT~THE FABRIC OF HUMANITY WAS GOVERNED BY THE LAW OF OUR FOREFATHERS RIGHTS TO BARE ARMS AND DEFEND THEM SELVES~WE HAVE NONE OF THIS IN TODAY'S REPRESENTATIVE B.S. SO HAVE A RANT AND GET YOUR KICKS CAUSE WHAT YOUR ASKING IS OPEN TO INTERPRETATIONS IN ALL WHO HAVE AND EVER WILL BE IN YOUR VIEW OF INTANGIBLE SUBSTANCES
