I was at Petsmart today getting my water tested and the lady testing it said my ammonia was too high and she asked me how often I fed my fish and I told her everyday. She said to feed my fish every other day. These are the fish I have:

-Betta fish
-Cory Catfish
-Neon Tetras

How often should I feed my fish?

I have a large pond (about 10' across about 5' deep at the center) in my backyard. I had two larger goldfish, two smaller ones (the only offspring to survive last years' spawning), and three koi. This spring they had a major orgy and about two months ago I discovered about 100 small dark gray (mud-colored) babies...about 50 left when I counted today (the seagulls love my house). About half a dozen have turned mostly gold (small patches of black on their fins still), one turned white, and about 20 have started showing patches of orange, gold, and/or white color. But I'm confused by one in particular. The ones that have already developed color are about 1.5 to 2" long...most that size have at least some color. Most of the really small ones are still gray, but there are about 10 that are about 3" long (and one big boy that's at nearly 5" long) that show no signs of developing color. Why are there so many sizes and why haven't the largest ones changed color yet?

Hello, i was watching the critters in my saltwater aquarium today, when i noticed a small "what appears to be" a feather duster pertruding from a small tube, at the bottom of one of my live rocks.. is this a good sign? i know he was not there before or, at least, i have not seen him before...could he have been seeded there from something else? it is only about 1/4 inch(or less) long when extended, and just looks like a small tube when in hiding...kinda looks like a white palm tree when extended....
thanks, skip

How does this sound for a 20 gallon with fake plants? The only problem I can see is the Hatchetfish being unhappy b/c of them being schoolers. What do you think? Is there room for more neons and hatchets? Exactly how many more?

~3 Hatchetfish
~ 6 Neons
~3 Otocinclus (ottos)

There are 15 Blue Shubunkins, 7 Comets. They all swim in a shoal together and don't seem to know there are any different types. They all live in a 245 gallon pond. I am new to this site so I'm really updating on previous questions!

My filtration system would be a 30 gallon wet and dry filtration system, or 2 aquaclear 110 filters, and 2 caribe piranha, 2 ternetzi piranha, 2 red bellied piranha, 2 super red bellied piranha, and 2 piraya piranha.

I also would have 2 powerheads.

Or id do 2 florida gar, a silver arowana, a peacock bass, 2 motoro stingrays, and a red tailed catfish. If i come up with something different I will tell about it in an update.

On my second suggestion, when the fish reached 18" they would go in a heated pond i own.

My betta has been sick for a month now. She stopped eating, would stay at the bottom of the tank, or would gasp for air at the surface. She also has swollen lips with black spots on them.
Today she blew her first bubble nest since she got sick!!! She also ate 3 pellets!! But for some reason she had trouble swallowing them (could be related to her swollen lips?). She also is swimming around more. I think she's better because of either the BettaFix I treated her with last week, or because I changed her water using aged water rather than conditioned water.
So do you think my Betta will survive whatever is ailing her??

There are 22 fish in my pond. They are mostly about 2 - 3 inches long, 4 or 5 are about 4 inches long. including the 2 new ones. They have quite a large pond to swim in and seem very sociable, swimming round in a large group or 2 or 3 smaller groups.

Heres the story:
Ok so i have 3 fish tanks (all second hands ones i got really cheap and now that i am 16 i am getting a week end job, So my intention was to buy one big tak like a RIO 180 :http://www.juwel-aquarium.de/en/rio.htm?cat=5&mat=4550 , Ok so i currently have
:20 Gallon (3ft x1ft x 2ft) with these fish:
5 platies
3 mollies,
1 male beta
1 pleco ( This is soon to be rehomed as i didnt know the size of tank it needed,)
2 cory cats
1algae eater,

10 GALLON TANK:
9 guppies + and a few fry
2 Apple snails

10 GALLON TANK:

5 Female betta
4 swordtail.

Ok so do you think it would be ok to bring all the fish toether into the one tank, Rio 180? I think this meens 180 litres but i dont know how many gallons this is, Would there be aough room and would all my fish get along in the same tank?
