I have 1 Betta Fish, 3 Cory Catfish, and 5 Neon Tetras. My tank accessories include a heater, filter, small thermometer, and an air stone. My ornaments include 3 fake plants and 1 rock set-up. I also have gravel in.

I've had my tank for about 3 weeks now and its still in the cycling process.

Here are the average measurements for each species:
• Betta fish - up to 3 inches
• Cory Catfish - up to 3.5 inches
• Neon Tetras - up to 2 inches

If you were to use the 1 inch per gal. rule, I'd be exceeding that limit (total would be about 23-24 inches), but you have to keep in mind that they're fish that don't grow that big.

All of my fish seem like they're happy and have plenty of space to move around. Any suggestions would help, but I mainly want to know if I can put anymore fish in. If so what kind of fish? Thanks to all that answer!

Ok.Ive bought 2 fish from walmart and niether lasted over a week!They were just regular goldfish you keep in a fish bowl.I only fed them once or twice.Am i using the wrong water or what How long is the average life of a goldfish? All answers are Helpful! Thanks

A week ago i have A LOT of live betta fry...now there's only 3!!! they slowly dwindled in numbers...i did everything i could...changed half of the water, did not over feed...but they are still dying...i'm about to give up now but i want to give the remaining 3 a fighting chance. Last night while i was checking the tank, I saw tiny specks of white things on the side of the tank...so small (slightly bigger than the period at the end of this sentence.) that i first thought nothing about it. When i woke up today, i swear that the specks are more now than last night.

What's this? Is this the one killing my fry? is this Saprolegnia fungus? i tried checking the web for Sap but did not find a picture similar to those tiny white specks...

Help Please! should i evacuate the 3 remaining fry to safety?

answer ASAP!

I have a 20 gal commuity tank with two schools of tetras serpe and neons and two albaino catfish they all get along good but know I want to get something for the to since the cats are bottom and tetras are middle any ideas I am thinkg black skirt teras silvers hatchets or dwark gourmani what do you think is my best option

I just brought 8 baby goldfish yesterday afternoon. Within 2hrs of getting them home 2 died. Later on last night i found one more dead and then this morning another died. I called to pet shop where i got them and told the guy what was going on and he had me go to the store so he could test the pH level of my water. That came out fine so he gave me 5 new fish. Again after 2 hrs of having them home two more have died. What could be going on and how can i stop my fish from dying?

My small goldfish, which I've had for about one week, are both pooping out this long red string-like substance since last night. One of them has only done it once, but the other keeps doing it. I've heard it might be a digestive tract problem, but I want to know if anyone here has ever heard of this. And if you have, do you know how to cure it? Is it dangerous for the fish? I feed them a little bit in the mornings, and then a little bit at night, and that's it.

I have a 30 gallon tank, with 2 african cichlids. One is a sunshine peakock, and another is a yellow lab. Each of them are about 4-5 inches long, and they seem to be acting normal as always. But i've noticed on the sides of the tank, on the glass, there are very small little, white, beetle-like parasites. They are just big enough to see and there are many of them. Also, there are white worms, about half an inch long. Please help me identify these parasites, how to get rid of them, and if they are harrmless or whatever. Thanks in advance.

currently i ownma juwel 240 tank(4ft) currently running a normal tropical tank with the usually molies neons plec shaks etc!!
anyway i want to change set up to some colouful cichlid and what do i hav e to add to make it a chichlid compatable tank??
- change my gravel to sand?
-what the juwel filteration?
-add salt?how?
-decorations /ocean rock etc??
-food?
-lighting
-filtration
-hiding places like what?
- plants?
also which fish are better more colourful etc arfican cichlids or malawi and can i mix them together and recpmend me which to buy?

its just swiming in curcles and its fat... is it dying.. tiger barbs..i just feed them not a lot and all my other biger barbs are okay!

I have an established 20 gallon with 6 neons and 3 ottos. I want to add more but I have a little ammonia. I haven't lost any fish and everyone seems happy. I feed every few days or so, do weekly water changes, and use fake plants. Is there anyway besides using chemicals, that could lower it? I thought I was doing everything right.

My malawi cichlid had a mouth full of fry or eggs or so I thought as the skin under her mouth bulged and she was'nt eating, I also managed to see what I thought were fry, but I have just looked at her and now she is completely normal, empty mouth. Where have her babies gone? I have looked but cannot see anything?? I was quite excited about her fry and now I feel confused and gutted.
