I have a 10 gallon tank with 1 kissing gourami (who is very very very big) lol, a little yellow Danio, and an albino cory.. I have 5 bettas, (all male), and want to put just 1 with no others in there but him no females, would that be alright? Or no?

He somehow inseted himself into a small section and got stuck. I got him out, but now he has scrapes on his sides and top, and while he can swim fine, he just keeps laying on his side. He will swim away from the net, but then just go right back onto his side. I'm hoping this is just shock, but any ideas?

My office manager keeps buying his assistant large goldfish for this tank. I keep objecting and they keep dying. I want to help her! She's about to give up on tank. I am thinking 1 Beta.

My Betta lives in a fish bowl, and I will soon be getting him a tank. After I cleaned out the bowl about a week ago, I started seeing bubbles in the bowl. I was wondering if these were soap bubbles, or bubbles when the fish sleeps. The bubbles are small, and are at the surface of the water. I was afraid to clean it out again, in case they were really soap bubbles, and not air bubbles.

I started a new fish tank, 1 or 2 months ago, added 4 fish after 2 weeks, then after another 2 weeks I added another 4 fish, 2 died a week ago. I just got back from my holiday, and now there are baby snails everywhere!!!!!!!! What shall I do? Where did they come from? I regularly gravel clean and syphon the tank. Should I keep them?

i have gravle in my tank but i was thinking because its so had to clean could i just take out the gravle the n glue the plants to tyhe bottom of the tank so they dont float do you think this would work better then having gravle

There is 5 of them and they are about 6-10 inches long, and pet stores won't take them, and I already have a koi pond so don't want a goldfish pond...and she really doesn't want to "flush" (wouldn't fit anyways!). Thanks

Just teasing out the waters, since I get different answers -- would you guys get an underwater filter for a new goldfish tank? I am going to get a canister, and also have an HOB I can use, but i want to make sur ehtey get lots of O2 -- they will have a large air exchange since the tank is long. thanks!

I have a mating pair in my tank so I have about 9 guppies I think they are playts er something. I also have an african dwarf frog that I have seen nipping at the fish and I believe one of the guppies got too close. It has no tail!! I found it will some mucus like stuff around the "tail" (or where it is supposed to be) It looks at if their is still bone there. This sounds like a case where I couldn't do anything and it will die shortly, but this little fighter has lived pasted two nights with basicly no rear end!! How can I help it survive because personally if it is fighting to live I am going to fight for it to live too. There is one problem....can it poop? because if not then IT MAY DIE!!! help!

I need help. I just got a goldfish and I want ti to be happy. peeps keep telling dont bother it will only last a week, but stll. so far I have filled a sizely tank/bowl with half tap water half water bottle. it is a small fish. I already have good for it food and a large house looking toy in the tank. I want ot spoil my fish. Any more advice?

I have 1male beta n 1 female. I just put them in the same tank, n he started chasing after her with his things flarring up. What does that mean, cuz they were by each otha, but then he just chased her around put they wasnt fighting, or was he jus tryna pick a fight????

I am starting a new tank and just need to know if these fish are compatable...5 tiger barbs, 2 simease algae eaters, 2 zebra daninos(pink*glowlight* and for cycling but will keep), 1 apple snail(albino mystery snail), 1 rainbow shark, 8 rasboras, 4 neons, 2 glowlights, 7 cardinals, and 3 African Dwarf Frogs...I am following the 2-3 small fish per gallon, 1-2 medium fish per gallon and 1 large fish per gallon rule.My tank isnt even bought yet but i am going to buy (hopefully soon)a 20 gallon tank with brown and black gravel and have liots of hiding places for all the bottom dwelers and swimmers. Thanks for all the help! dont post anything if you are just going to tell me to buy a bigger tank please! oh and buy the way I need to know a couple of other thing do bettas harm albino mystery snails? and I need to know son stuff to get for the goldfish im am getting *make that 3* they are all medium and living into a 10gallon tank. hello i have 1 male blue tetra and 1 female and the male is trying to get her to lay eggs but i dont want her to so how can i get her not to ? and also if i get more will this stop them ?
