Strange request I know but I've seen pictures of dried up Stingrays and they look really scary. I would like to use one as a prop for a film I'm doing.

I'm just wondering what the symptoms are for a fish dying. My own fish is a good few years old now and it's swimming slightly squint (ie. leaning to one side) and there's less orange scales than there used to be.

When I fed my fish this morning, I noticed that one of my brilliant rasboras was quite pale, and his body looked almost like it was covered in a thin layer of slime. A few short stringy strands of slime are hanging off his body. (They’re not very long.) Only one fish is affected, and he was behaving normally – eating, swimming, etc.

I had to be to work before the pet store opened, but I will stop by on my home. I will, of course, ask what they think I ought to treat with. I have Melafix, but I didn’t put any in the tank. If the infection is fungal, I figured it wouldn’t do a whole lot of good, and I’d rather treat the fish properly than guess at it and do more harm.

Anybody have any idea what this infection is, where it came from, and how to treat it?

20 gallon
2 glass catfish
3 brilliant rasboras
1 pineapple swordtail
1 susnet platy

I have a pretty good size Angel Fish that is probably 2-3 years old. I inherited from my ex wife who had him in a 5 gallon tank that you couldn't even see into it was so green. I nursed him back to health and have had for a year now. When I fed them yesterday he didn't eat which is unheard for for him. Today he was face down at the bottom of the tank and when I moved him a little he swam around with no control(on his side, upright, like having no balance).

Any ideas what could be causing this? 30 gallon tank, regular water changes, I monitor my water quality, no new fish for 6+months.

One odd thing I need to mention. He is a Zebra Striped Angel. From his mouth up to his dorsal fin along the top is kind of a rusty color. I just figured it was natural. I added a white Veiled Angel about 6-7 months ago that was completely white, but I noticed it has developed this rusty color along the top as well.

Any help is appreciated. I don't want to lose Bubba after all he has gone through.

Im selling my 55 gallon tropical fish tank. This is an established tank that will come with EVERYTHING but fish-- everything meaning filter, decorations, quemicals etc. It also comes with a wood desk for a stand. This tank has never had diseases in it and its an established tank.

I paid $400 bucks for my tank but since its used, i dont know for how much i should sell it for!

I have a 10 gallon fish tank and I have already reused the rocks 2 or 3 times and I'm pretty sure it's not good to use them again. So, I was wondering if you really need gravel for the tank or is it just part of design or show. I have another question also, why is there slimy stuff in the filter? Everytime I clean the fliter, the area that has the little pipe to pump the water always has slimy stuff. I can never reach far enough down to get to it to clean it. Someone please tell me how I can clean it and what causes it, also please answer my other question. Thanks

My betta fish is very pale and listless. Before yesterday he was his usual energetic, happy self, and then yesterday I saw him looking sick. Can someone please help me to help him get better? What is wrong with him and what can I do? I have only had him around 6 months and love him. I don't want him to die.

This morning I got up to find all my malawi's on the surface of the water, looking like they are gasping for breath!! I quickly took the filter out and gave it a good clean as i found it was filthy but i only cleaned it 3 weeks ago, its a fairly new fluval 4, in a 180litre tank. In the mean time I put an air pump in the tank to put some oxygen in the tank whilst i cleaned the filter, After I cleaned the filter and put it back in the tank, all the fish started to behave normally, but im still worried as they didnt eat their food!! I only did a 20% water change yesterday and tested the water and all was fine. Do you think that it was just the filter?

I have a Tetra fish, he is always begging for food. It used to be that everytime someone walked by the tank he would flop around like a maniac until i fed him, then he'd be okay for a while. But now, i can get him fed and 1 min later he's begging me for food again (flying around the tank swimming up and down and ramming his face into the side of the tank) i've tried hiding his food so he cant see it but that didnt work he'd still beg. its getting really annoying and i dont think its healthy how much i feed him (between 6-9 times a day) do you have any suggestions? thanks!

I read everywhere about having to do a nitrogen cycle for new fish tanks and I have two questions about it. 1. Do you need to do a nitrogen cycle for coldwater fish (goldfish)? and 2. Where would I be able to buy bio-spira in Australia, any specific cities, towns or would it have to be ordered online?

Does anyone have any experience with maracide? I put my betta in a half gal hospital tank (he's usuallly in a 2 gal). Anyway, So the dosage is usually 2 capfuls for 10 gallons, i basically did only a couple of drops into the tank.

It's day two not and I am not seeing any reduction of the "gold coloring" on his gills and fins. I've been keeping the lights off too.

Also, the bottle says to treat on days 1, 3, and 5. That means I dont change the water when I do so correct?

Well anyway, how long before I start seeing results? I'm very worried about him. Do I just stop treating after day 5? What if he's not better yet? At this rate i'm not sure... help!
