Extra water changes is the only real answer for you to be honest. Feeding fry usually gets a tank pretty dirty and requires additional water changes. I change 50% of the water daily in fry tanks personally.

There are many things that could be causing this. The most common thing is that there are too many fish in the tank, or you are over feeding them. Its very easy to do. If these aren't the problem look into chemicals available in the pet stores to balance water quality.

Fresh water is very important for keeping fish. Everyone should be concerned about this. But 5 / 13 isn't that bad for guppy fry really.

Hope it helps.

Even with a good filter you need to do weekly water changes of 25% and vacuum your gravel to remove waste. Also depending on what type of filter you have, you should change your filter media bi-weekly-monthly! It is possible that some of your fry were eaten, but it could be the water condition to! What is your temp at? Tropical fish like guppies need the temp at 76-82*. Good luck!
