I have a small fish tank (small enough to be carried) and I am having trouble with ICK.I read online that ick can be caused by stress on the fish moving from tank to tank. Usually about once per week I take the fish out, empty the whole tank, clean it and then put them back in. Right now I am having a treatment done daily for ick but I don't know if I am doing this right. Is this the proper way to clean the fish tank? Am I causing unnessecary stress on the fish? How can I effectively clean the tank without causing ick? please help!

Hi guys,
I was reading through the discus food recipe and come across with some ingredients that I don’t know about.
- Astaxantin, -Spirulina, - Lecithin.
What are these?
How much should be added to the food?
Where can I buy them from? ( can I get them from the chemist?)

My GT(Green Terror Cichlid ) is acting strange, I have it from six months, its a male (about 4") & is very healthy. Earlier it was too shy to come out. Now it is shy (not much), a bit change in its attitude is observed. When someone watches it closely, it is flaring its gills and trying to scare the viewer charging at the aquarium wall (like it usually does with other fishes). I dont understand what it is trying to do. So I think any aquarist who has an experience in keepng GT can explain me about this behavior.

I just started up a 20gal tank with 3 zebra danios, 3 dwarf gouramis, & 1 red-tailed shark. I keep reading that the gouramis are too territorial to keep together in such a small space. Are they usually compatible with one another? Are they compatible with a red-tailed shark as well?

My angelfish is 3 years old, has always lived alone, and it just laid eggs. Are the eggs fertilized (hermaphroditic fish?) or does there have to be a male and a female? Just curious if these eggs will hatch, or just die off
Any info would be great!
Thanks!

Cherry Barb because it has ick and is spazzing all over the place swimming upside down etc. But it's "boyfriend" keeps bumping it trying to get it to swim upright (sometimes successfully) sort of herding it here and there and saving it from the bottom feeders that want to eat it...
The sick fish also is eating...but I am sure it will die soon.
My actual question is...Do fish have "feelings" for eachother? Or is this some sort of thing you all have seen before.

Recently, all my goldfish died within days of each other, despite being very healthy and alert over the past few months i've had them. Someone at my office said that it's cause my dwarf puffer fish is poisonous and this has killed them. Is this true? Is the dwarf puffer fish incompatible with other fish?
