Well, fish will eat as much as you give them, pretty much. They have very big appetites and relatively small stomachs.
I don't know if you're overfeeding them, but it does sound like it. When I feed algae wafers to my otocinclus, and my angelfish decides to eat a WHOLE wafer, he gets hugely fat.
Anyway, give them a day or two without any food, and the bulging should go down (if it doesn't, it could indicate a more serious problem like intestinal blockage), and when you resume feeding, only give them what they'll eat in about 30 seconds, once or twice a day.

Some of the fish will overeat til their guts explode. Your tank will also get dirty and become cloudy much faster if you are overfeeding. The fish should be able to eat all the food you give them before it falls to the bottom of the tank, or you are probably overfeeding them. If their gut is bulging, they are probably either overfed or about to have some babies.

the water will look cloudy. plus you could kill them. Some fish food says to feed only what your fish can comsume. I have a tank with 15 fish i feed them twice a day only 2 pinchs and that plenty.

You can tell their overfed when you find their lifeless bodies at the top of the fish tank, their glossy eyes staring into your soul,
the foggyness in their eyes drowning you inside.

That would be one indication for sure. Don't feed for a day and see if the buldge goes away. If not you have a more serious issue on your hands.
