i just got a pair as a gift, cute as a button, im going to try to spawn them if my discus doesnt eat them... they are in a 29 with some pencilfish, selawasi loaches and a juv, turq discus named Earl. pH is 6ish and there is a CO2 reactor and lots of plants, im just not motivated to set up a yarn tank which is how i spawned my psuedoepiplatys annularis, any thoughts?

You can still provide them with spawning mops of java moss, and they should spawn for you. You could, if you wanted and felt motivated, remove the eggs to a rearing tank - because not many eggs will make it to adulthood with all those other fish. But, with heavy planting, you might get a few survivors. Load up on java moss and other plants, that's your best bet.

A nice big clump of java moss and they should spawn away in there, but I wouldn't expect any eggs to escape the adults, not less and fry or young to escape the other fish for any length of time. Great little fish, I have bred them several times and loved keeping them. Though I have bred about 45 species of killifish, I have never had any significant luck with keeping fry in a community tank.
