My Betta Fish almost died. My mom had took him out of his bowl to clean it, we had him sitting in a cool whip bowl, until the other water warmed up a little. Well when it was warm enough I got him and put him in his regular tank. When I put him in there he almost died!! All of his color faded out, and he would float at the bottom, and struggle and stuff. I know something was wrong with him, but I just don't know exactly what would have caused this. He was totally white. But within an hour he recovered and he is fine now. I am wondering what could have caused this????

I have a 5" Angel fish that is looking very poorly. Not sure what the problem is or what I should be doing for it. All of it's fins are looking very ragged and worn away. Is there something that I could put in the tank water to help mend the fins? If the fish does not get better, is there a humane way to put it out of it's misery? The Angel fish is in a tank with two other Angels that are very small and one Clown Loach. I've had the large Angel for about 3 years.

It needs to be small enough for a dorm room but i also don't want a tiny little fish bowl. How many fish could I approximately fit in it it and how much do you think it would cost to recreate a "reef aquarium".

Do you think it is even a feasible idea to have a saltwater aquarium in a college room?

I have read that the reason why you only change part of the water in your fish tank is that there is bacteria that is good for the fish. I'm curious as to where this bacteria originates from, and how it accumulates, and what kind of bacteria it is, and how it is beneficial to the fish?
Just want to understand my little ecosystem a little better.

We bought a new shark and was told it was a rainbow shark but we have been sitting here looking at it and the only red this shark has is it's anal tail. The top fin and front fins are a dark blue fade to black and it has a white belly with a grey body. Can anyone tell me what kind of shark this is?

I have a 55 gal tank with Wisteria, Sword, Dwarf Acous, and Water sprite plants in my tank and they are established. I want as many Gouramis and varieties as possible. How many can I have and not have a problem(how many of each variety). Except for the Sword plants all planted area are faily thick and stretch the length of the tank. Any help would be appreciated. Also if anyones knows of a good place to get female gouramis that information would be a bonus. Can someone also tell me how to sex determine gouramis, that information would also be useful?

I want to start my own fish tank, but I don't know where to start. What do I need? I'm planning to get a 20 gallon tank.
Should I start with a freshwater tank or a saltwater tank?
What kind of fish should I get? Where is the best place to get this stuff? How much will it cost me?

I need a lot of help.

THANK YOU.
