Tank dividers work perfectly, but i suggest using two seperate tanks, because the fish still see eachother, and still might be agressive, i have 2 tanks of African cichilds(the most agressive kind) so i would know.

it depends on how good the divider is and the shape of the tank. I have 2 bettas in a tank with a divider but the front of the tank is curved so the divider doesnt fit right and they can slip by. Just be sure to get one that is secure and not just a small plastic cheap thing, I think they sell net ones which are nicer and should be good in your case. hope i helped :)

Have you tried stiff plastic mesh? Really just like a grid with lots of small square holes, there are various hole sizes. It maximises water flow while still functioning as a divider due to the stiffness. There are both transparent & opaque (white or black) colors. After cutting to size they can be attached using rubber suckers easily available from your local fish shop (LFS). If the mesh is not found in LFS, try DIY or hobby craft shops. Other than as tank dividers, such mesh is really multi-functional. Can be used as tank cover for small tanks to prevent fish jumping out. Can attach moss to create moss walls for tank background. Can be easily cut to any shape or size, thinner ones are flexible enough to bend for customisation. Lots of other uses around the house too, for example to line the bottom of gardening pots, I think needlepoint craft also has a plastic variant.

I have used tank dividers many a time for keeping male & female cichlids apart, when breeding them. You should'nt have any problems with this.

If you have a small tank adivider won't do you any good for the type of fish you have. It's good when the fish need the same type and temperature of water.and if there is enough space for each fish to have enough territory.

as long as the environment...(temperature & water condition) is similar...for angels & cichlids they are....should be fine...

i had multiple tanks and have used dividers to seperate different breeds as well as same breeds...have had to seperate jack dempseys and oscars...dividers worked just fine

The dividers are ok, but you have to be careful with installation and fit it correctly. They can be a pain to get fitted right, but as long as you are careful, they work fine.

Tand dividers are great, just make sure there is adequate circulation on both sides of the divider.
