I am an experienced aquarist, but have never read anything about breeding this species.

I beleive the lack of information available is due to the average home aquariaist not having the werewithal to maintain an aquarium large enough for a shark breeding program. If you have aspirations to breed, your tank must be HUGE! Do you have any pics on-line?

A quick check with some of the larger hobbyist breeding programs didn't reveal any recorded breeding's of this fish. I also didn't find anything in the FAMA index back into the 1960's. If someone has bred this guy they are keeping it a big secret.

My guess would be that it like many other large catfish is a cave spawner and tank breeding such a large fish under those conditions would be practically impossible.

This assumes of course you aren't referring to black banded coryodoras.

Best of luck with that one and record everything you do just in case you can pull it off. A new tank spawning of a never recorded before always makes a great article in the fish mags!
