are convict cichlids and silver dollars compatiable? cause i have a 55 gallon and i was thinking about getting 4 convicts, and maybe about 3 silver dollars. are oscars compatiable with convicts?

4 convicts is the best way to use 55 gallons. but you really shouldnt have any more than that. I own 5 pair of breeding convicts and it is the funest thing ever. You should buy them a lot of cool stuff for the tank. But if you really feel like you have to have something. A fiddler crab is pretty cool with them.

An oscar must be alone in a 55 gallon. They are extremely messy. Some oscar keepers change 100% of their water every other day to keep up with their bioload. Silver dollars get huge. I think convicts and dollars would be ok, but 2 convicts and 3 dollars is better.
