I have fancy guppies and they get pregnant that quick. I had over 100 fish because of my guppies. The population grew from 6 fish to over 100 in 6 months. This was also because i was pulling the babies out and keeping them from being eaten.

The only way to tell if your guppy is pregnant or just fat is by looking at the gravid spot. this is towards the back of their belly. If it is black she is pregnant, and if you can see eyes she will have babies soon.

Sure, if a female is in the presence of a male, she can and will have fry every 21 to 30 days. Even if she isn't with a male, she can retain sperm and have fry for a few months after seeing a male.
If you don't want to raise the fry, just let her have them in the tank. The adult fish will eat the fry pretty quickly. Or you can look into trading the males for some more females (or trading the females for some males).

It doesn't take long, but only two weeks? It's hard to say, I do know this, I started out with only with a few. One of them turned out to be pregnant. With in a year I was a proud grandparent of 11 generations of guppies. They aren't bad, they actually become part of the family. I love mine, I do have to keep the males out once in a while. You know to keep the babies down.

That's typical of guppies as others have said. In my opinion the best answer is leaving them inthe tank and allowing nature to take it's course as the adults will eat the babies.

Guppies are prolofic and are always pregant. They just never stop having offspring and can continue to have offspring several times from 1 mating so seperating the sexes is pointless.
