I use feeder fish for mainly for my Oscar and occasionally my Brim and Koi. I have a 90 gallon pond in my front yard. Right now it has feeder fish in it. I would like to know what other type of fish I can put in that tank that wont eat the feeder fish and that will come to the top to eat?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I bought this fish 2 days ago. It's small and white and there's nothing special about it....but it had about 12 babies yesterday. And I took a guppie out that I had living with the other fish so it wouldn't distract it from it's babies. But a friend told me that the mama fish might eat the babies. And I was wondering if this was true....I didn't know any fish ate their babies! Thanks!

And also...what do the babies eat?! It seems like they're too small for regular fish food! Help!

There is something yellowish on the white rocks of my 29 gallon fish tank. It looks almost like yellow rust and it has a coating on almost my entire bottom. Also, my water is kind of cloudy and is kind of bubbling at the top. Like little bubbles keep popping up at the surface. whats going on?

I have a 25 gallon tank and I have a filter that is recommended for the tank. The filter seems to be sending ouy air bubbles out of it and the air bubbles just sit on top of the water, is there a way I can stop these bubbles from forming, they are starting to make my tank ugly.

Because my jellybean cichlid keeps trying to squeeze through a hole in the centerpiece of my tank. And some bruise-looking patches on his belly have showed up since I noticed him doing it.

He fits through the other hole, but this hole is the only one he seems interested in.

I have two fish, Silver and Golden and they are 5 years old. Silver is acting weirdly. She is standing on her head in like a bottom feeding pose. She is fine in herself though (I am only presuming Silver's female because of her characteristics, I do not know for certain). Her lower scales are also standing up very slightly and she is a bit bloated. She is fine at food time though! The second the food goes in she is up at the top gobbling and then she cruises the tank like normal, bottom feeding and moving out of the whirlwinds way (Golden is blind and gets a little over excited at foodtimes!) She does'nt seem to have any intention of dying and she seems way to well so its not dropsy because from what Ive read that is a slow death where the scales stand up and some fall off blood seeps from their body. It could be intestial worms but surely Golden would be ill too. The water has been changed twice since she started this. Could it be her 1st breeding season. Please help!!!!!!!

The water is very thick when I change it. I also change the filter pad and clean the rocks/decor items in it. I have had the tank for 2 weeks and I have had to change the water every 3 days because it looks so bad and I don't want the fish to die. Every 3 days I can hardly see the fish it looks so bad. What should I do?

I have a tank with 2 fantails in it and a betta in a bowl. The betta always seems a little depressed and I had heard they were community fish so maybe putting him in with the fantails would help. They are both bigger than him so he won't be able to eat them, but not so big they can him. The fantails don't pick at each others tails, something I read was a bad thing if you wanted to put a betta in with other fish.... Anyway, there's room in the tank and I would just like to know if this would be ok. Thanks!

Small 2" plecostomus was recently introduced into established 30 gal tank that was fairly lush with algae, pleco did it's job and glass is clean. Now it trails a string of feces almost as long as itself, how long will it get?? I've had other plecos that would eat lettuce but this one doesn't seem interested.

I have a pregnant guppy. Is it safe to treat her for ick, if she's about 3weeks to due her babies?

Also, I have a shrimp. I know that they can't be given parasite cure, but I can't find anything that says if ick medicacation is safe.

I would really like to know the honest truth you know.(if you have no idia, please don't give a foolish answer.)

THANK YOU for reading and triing to help!

What is the best diet for goldfish, and for bettas? Are pellets better than the flakes? I have Orandas in particular. Also, I think it's good to add certain fruits or vegetables to their diet for their health? I have seen oranges in the pet store also -- and do they eat anything else like those worms, etc? I know those dried worms sold in stores often kill bettas, it happened to my sister once before I read about it, but I don't know if this flaky stuff is good enough to really make them live as long as goldfish do, and the full three or so years bettas do? I have had bettas live about three years primarily on the pellets in the past, and with some of the worm treats thrown in. thanks!

I have a 250g Reef tank, Nitrite 10/Nitrate 0/PH 8.4 (Thanks to Live Rock). I do a 15g-30g water change once or twice a month mainly for supplements. I use RO/DI water for the water changes. RO meter is showing 003ppm

The day after the water change, my substrate gets full of brown/green algae. Has anyone experienced this, or know what may be causing it?
